It was getting to be about evening. Die was expecting a dinner call any second. The Doc always made dinner a bit earlier than Die guessed that other people did. Doc always like being earlier. He says an excellent host is never late. Itchy barged into his room and told him to get his lame butt up 'cuz dinner was ready. The Doc always sent Itchy to tell everyone dinner was ready because he was the fastest. Sometimes he envied the temporal powers of the other Felt members but he also pitied others like Doze's. Poor does cold pick up a fork within half an hour.
Die snapped out of his thinking, rubbed his eyes, then headed to dinner. He sat down in his place at the table, next to Crowbar. He could feel butterflies in your stomach. Why did Crowbar make him feel this way? Hell, he knew exactly why. Crowbar was a strong leader, he was confident in himself, and even though the Felt did always show it, they really respected him. Those were things that he would never have.
Die picked at his food a little, but didn't really it much of it. It appeared to be some sort of casserole. When wasn't it some sort of casserole? Die risked a quick glance over at Crowbar. He was deep in thought with the side of his face resting in the palm of his hand. Die felt his face get a little flushed and he had to quickly calm himself down before a visible blush appeared on his face. Damn it! Why did he have to look so hot when he was thinking? Die very impatiently waited for the Doc to dismiss the table. He ran off after giving Sawbuck what remained of his food. At least Sawbuck would be friendly towards if he gave him his leftovers. He hurried into his room and shut the door behind him. He flopped onto his bed and checked his pins. (Which were exactly as they were before dinner of course)
At this point in the day he would just find something to entertain himself until he went to sleep if he wasn't on a mission. He didn't get very much sleep in either way though. He had terrible insomnia and would just end up lying on his bed wide awake so he might as well do something instead of laying there.
He heard a knock on his door. He wasn't sure which was more surprising, someone coming to see him at this time , or someone actually knocking on the door instead of barging in. Die very quietly said come in. Whoever was there probably didn't even hear him though. He wasn't known for having a loud voice. The person on the opposite side of the door opened it. The tip of a maroon hat calm into view, followed by Crowbar.
