Chapter 8 || Him

*1 week later*

"Girl hurry up! Let's goooooo!" I hear Kaitlin rush me. Today is our first day at school, seems weird? I've been taking online classes because I get distracted easily and because I had no friends, but now I have Kaitlin. And she wants to drag me with her to experience high school. "Hey Ry, are there any hot boys at our school?" I look over at her and just laugh.

I start putting on my outfit, it's a "I'm lazy" but "I'm fashionable" outfit. I put a white sweetheart shirt, a beige sweater, a pair of orange high waisted jeggings, a gold cross necklace, and a pair of brown shoes.

I walk over to my closet mirror to examine myself and I'd say, I like my outfit. So you know I just had to take a picture.

"I don't really know. You can tell me when we get there." I say fixing my wavy maroon-burgundy hair. Ever since I've met Kaitlin, I feel like I finally have a friend. A real friend, I think. Even though I paid her to be my friend she hasn't taken that for granted. She's a really good friend.

We spend time at my house most of the time because whenever I go to her house I see Layla. And let's just say, she still doesn't like me. One day we went over to Kaitlin's house and we were outside playing basketball and I guess Layla just got home, with someone I kind of forgot about. Matthew. They glared at us playing basketball, but then I noticed Matthew still had the phone I bought him so I yelled over to him "Hey Matthew! How's the phone?" After I said that, Layla walked or more like stormed in her house, and of course Matthew followed her like she was his mother duck. He glanced back at us and opened the door and walked in. Why is he so rude to me? Or even Kaitlin, what did she do?

"I can't believe you've missed two and a half years of high school! That's just crazy!" She is really hype this morning. Yes, I'm a junior, and it's going to be my first time, let me repeat; first time in high school, I've never even entered one either.

"Kay, calm your nips. Let's go." I make sure I have everything I need including my purse, house keys, pens, pencils, you know stuff I 'need' for school. Then, I walk out after her. We walk down the steps, and almost every step she squealed with excitement. For me to only know this girl for a week, I feel like I've known her for forever.

"When are you getting a car?" She pouts, as we exit my house. I haven't gotten a car yet because I don't really feel as though I need one, yet. I'm usually home anyway. The school we are going to is about 10 minutes in walking speed away, so it's not that long. Plus, it's an exercise, because God knows I don't like working out, but this could help.

While walking towards the school a lot of cars passed us, many blasting music getting hyped up and others looking like they're not ready to go to school. I could tell this is probably going to be a cliché, stereotypical high school.

And frankly, I'm not ready.
