Chapter 8 What?

This is a short chapter but I wanted to update quickly so yeah here it is.

It was a warm summer day a rare day when winter was coming,but the water was suprisengly a couple of degrees warmer than usual.

I swam about in a daze unable to really care how slow I went or how shortly I stayed underwater.

Which is why I didn't see Shartletts tail as it nearly smacked into me. That would of been a seriouse breaking of bones since Seranean tails can easily break a humans face even my own. Luckily I smacked it away with my own tail before it caught me. Sharlett quickly turned around. Anger on her face but I pointed at her tail.

" it nearly hit me" I said in Mainean. The ocean seemed to move at my wooing voice.

Sharlett just shrugged as if to saw "so".

I then made a motion on my wrist. Showing time was up and we had to go soon. Sharlett huffed in the water, but soared ahead of me reaching the surface bearly then waiting so we could both surface. Then we leaped out of the water like dophins.

" hay we have to change in the water now. Mom said" Sharlett commented .

" when did she say that?"

" this mourning " she said.

" we'll I didn't hear"

" It true she said it. Come one! Ugh you never believe me." Sharlett accused Slapping her hazel tail against the water in frustration.

" that's because your not trustworthy. Nevermind, nevermind I'll change." I agreed quickly. For the sake of not starting an argument. With that I focused on pushing my sirenean self inside and pulling out my human form.

I was quick and in no time at all stood up to walk the remaining shore. Sharlett on the other hand struggled for like an hour. Every time you could finally see her legs appear they submerged back into her tail.

" Ergh it's to hard." Sharlett breathed.

With one last try she flopped onto her back and preceded to sun herself.

" come on. We gotta go. "

" Kay I'll try again.......in a few minutes." She stated

I turned around and started to dry myself with a towel. Suddenly  heard a snicker behind me.

" hey Marie put her skirt down I can see your ginourmouse butt from all the way down here."

Quickly I turned toward her angrily and covered myself with a towel.

" then stop oogling like a perveted man. It's not sopposed to have a bottom, anyway."

Sharlett just snickered at my comment while dogding my insults as usual. A talent I didn't posses.

I turned around guickly as a small smile.began to appear on my face.

I gotta admit it was hilariouse.

Later on, after Sharlett finally changed back to her human self we trudged up the trail and into our house only to bump into Paige.

Paige seemed to be as fragile as ever only with dark circles under her eyes.  Like she'd been dodging bullets from my moms tounge.

" why did you guys go up to the cove so early."

" because its a free country" Sharlett stated while walking  by.

"Huh?"

" heh. No its just because we like to swim and because summer is nearing at a end we like to enjoy the ocean as long as we can." For humans it was getting cold at least.

" does it like get to cold for you."

" to normal human beings yes."

" What!"she exclaimed.

" What? "

" you said to normal human beings ?"

" Yeah? Its an expression."

" for what"

Goodness this girl was like a 8 year old always asking why this and why that.

" to normal people"

" are you saying I'm not normal."

"Apperently" I sighed

" what?"

" ugh I mean normal people get cold when they go to the ocean and you say you dont so that means your not normal your special. "

The special was added as an affect to calm her down and indeed it did. I saw wide doe eyes calm down and her whole teeny frame shortened to its orginal hieght.

"Kay"
