From Hope to Despair

I let out a deep breath, narrowing my eyes at the tall school in front of me, while my right hand clutches tightly to my acceptance letter. Hope's Peak Academy, the school that only the best of the best students at what they do get invited to attend, guaranteeing them success in their future career. A letter appeared at my doorstep one day as I was on my way to the Togami mansion addressed to myself, which immediately caught my attention. Usually, any mail would be addressed to my dead parents, mainly because their death was never made public, but this time was not the case. 

~Flashback~

"What's this?" I mutter quietly to myself as I pick up the envelope from the floor

'To Miss Y/n L/n?'

I rip the envelope open quickly, unfolding the paper carefully. A small pamphlet of a high school falls out, but my attention is quickly drawn back to the letter in my hands. 

Miss Y/n L/n 

We at Hope's Peak Academy have gathered the best of the best students to join us this coming school year. As such, you have been picked to attend as the Ultimate Spy. We have set up dorms for everyone to stay in as a result of the 15 other students selected and the orientation will be held in a week at 8am.

'That's it? That's how the letter ends?'

I sigh, stuffing the paper into my bag and starting to head to the Togami mansion once again. Upon getting there, Byakuya's butler lets me in and I head straight toward his room in more of a rush today. Still keeping my manors, I knock, then enter to see Byakuya sitting at his desk. He turns around, eyes slightly widening upon seeing me, and I notice he holds a similar letter to mine, the pamphlet also sitting right in front of him. Digging into my bag, I hold up my letter and pamphlet, causing him to stand up from his chair. 

"That's two" I say quietly. "Out of sixteen"

"Let's head to the library" We walk out of his room just down the hall to his library. Heading to one of the computers, I turn it on and immediately begin my search

"How long?" He asks watching me begin to type.

"5 minutes"

He nods before pulling out one of the mystery novels and taking a seat next to me. Taking out a pen and flipping the acceptance letter over, I begin writing down the names of everyone attending. Those 5 minutes quickly pass and Byakuya shuts his book the same time i drop my pen and lean back on the chair.

"And?"

I take a deep breath. "Kyoko Kirigiri. That's all I could find about her."

He sighs. "How troublesome"

"You're telling me" I take off my glasses I use for computers and put them back in their case. "Something is bothering me though...about this Celestia Ludenberg."

He motions for me to continue so I do. "Her name doesn't sound Japanese."

"So you think it's fake?"
