on a warm saturday morning, ludo headed outside for a walk. she took her mother's notebook out of her bag, wanting to enjoy a relaxing afternoon. her mother's notebook was her favorite thing that was left of her. it allowed her to see the thoughts of her late mother and the many things she enjoyed doing. the notebook contained unique charms and spells that one wouldn't typically learn in class. she memorized and mastered all her mother's spells, but she wanted to learn more. during third year, ludo began creating new types of charms. she enjoyed reading up on charms in the restricted section at her old library at bellani and would go to the ministry in milan to learn from experts. she was greatly welcome there and made many connections. with the help of the professionals, she got enough knowledge to make new spells. that's also how she knew umbridge, and she highly despised the woman. when umbridge saw that ludo was in the ministry learning from experts, she was keen to get her into trouble. however, this didn't happen through the help of her father. for this reason, umbridge was out to get ludo. and there was no way in hell ludo would let it happen.
during her time in italy, she also gained a new habit. she began smoking, especially after her friends were doing it as well. she didn't smoke often, but it helped her relax at times. she got one from her pocket and conjured up a flame with her wand to light it. she lay her head on the tree behind her and enjoyed the quiet scenery.

just then a dainty figure walked up to her from behind. hermione was wearing plaid pants and a black sweater. how does she look so effortlessly beautiful. she took another hit from her cigarette and closed her eyes.

"you're not allowed to be smoking on school grounds. frankly, you shouldn't be smoking at all, it's quite detrimental to your health," spoke hermione in her usual bossy tone. many would find this annoying, but ludo enjoyed it. she thought her care and consideration was admirable. she also thought it was cute as shit.
ludo smirked and gave a low chuckle. hermione's heart was warmed with her laugh and it made her ineffably happy. "well good thing no one else is around. and, technically, too much of everything can be dangerous. i'm careful to smoke in small amounts. didn't know you cared so much about my health, miss granger." ludo spoke in a cheeky and slightly flirty tone. ludo hoped that hermione would notice. hermione did take notice of this, however, she didn't know that it was a gesture meant only for her. hermione assumed ludo spoke this way towards everyone.
