Grant will probably be accepted into the team, but his brother is escaped. How will he take the news? What will his brother do with complete freedom? and what of Skye? Can she accept him and forgive him? Now that Grant Ward is back in the team, what will be their next challenge? Find out, in this latest update!
"It's about your brother, he escaped," I say, trying for gently.
"What?" W-Grant says.
"We're waiting for confirmation on his capture," I whisper, almost trying not to be heard.
He sinks to the floor, cradling his head in his hands, "I should have killed him when I had a chance."
"Hey, Hey!" I say, grabbing his attention, "Letting someone live is not weakness, it's a real strength." I realize that that was what Coulson said to me when I had let Ward live. "Do you remember when I revealed the coordinates for my hard drive in exchange for your life? I was saying the same thing. That I should have let you die. But giving mercy isn't a weakness, Ward. Grant. It's a truer strength than Garrett or your brother can ever understand. They're too weak. They're weak and they hurt you to convince themselves they are strong. All they prove by that is how weak they are. Loving someone and supporting someone? That's genuine strength. And you have that Ward. Grant. That's why they're trying to beat it out of you. Never let them succeed, Ward. Never let their weakness overtake your strength."
He looks up into my eyes. "Thank you, Skye."
I smile, radiant, "You're welcome."
I get a notification on my computer. It would appear to be a dead body covered in the same markings that Coulson was using.
Coulson bursts into the room, "The room exploded. I haven't heard from them yet."
I jump up, "What? What happened?"
"He had a bomb." Coulson says, "Threw it in the air and escaped. Many casualties. Maybe even our team." He looks past me, "What is that?"
I turn to look at the notification. "Someone's been killed. I figured we could find out more, before . . ." I choke up. Was May ok, Bobbi and Hunter?
"It's all right. We'll go figure it out while we wait for them to come. It would be a welcome distraction." Coulson says.
Ward pipes up, "W-was it my brother."
We look at him and he guesses the rest. I can see him struggle for a lack of emotion on his face, but it doesn't work. Coulson speaks up first. "Yes. I'm sorry." Ward's face falls, but he quickly changes it to impassive. Coulson looks disturbed. "That's uncanny."
I don't say anything, instead, I gesture to Coulson to come with me. I stop at the door and say goodbye to Ward.
He waves back. Before I look away, I can see him thinking. I'm not sure what it's about, but I don't have time to wonder. Phil tugs at my arm. "Come on, we've got a murder investigation to worry about, and the murderer to stop before he kills anyone else!"
I nod and leave. Ward will be fine, right?
The Crime Scene
We look at the body and the rooms. Both the dead girl and the murderer had the GH-325 serum injected into them. Hers came in the form of paintings. His was body art. And murder, apparently.
We take the pictures so that we can attach the group together, make it make sense.
We'll take the body back to base so that Simmons can examine it. Then maybe we'll find out more.
The Lab
Simmons pulls off her gloves. "She died of blood loss. He slowly cut the marks, and she died before it was over."
Coulson adds, "Our markings are more complete."
I nod, "One more thing, I checked up and she used to be an agent. Died of cancer a few years ago, apparently."
Coulson processes the information. "Alright. I'm going into the machine."
