All's unwell

Do I speak as if looking into a mirror
As I reflect on the common defects of our pride
As if personal achievement and perishable treasures
Truly calls us worth the marvel when decorated
When in truth for all the honor of a man, all we are is overrated

In reverance lacking
Finding more faith in self
Then mental ascension to a compartmentalized God
When prayer and praises fail to conform to lifestyle
Every proclamation is facade

Worshipping convenience
Love finds limits in the ways of self
And all the good is all for not
When defaults are number one at the expense of someone else
In a moment of emotion
Heart unveils the kindness forgot

Bitter in tendency
Understanding in lack
I'm deserving of the stone I cast
And just as capable of placing a knife in the back

No justification, no validation
No excuse to pretend its all okay
Just take the bullet, walk off the wound
And fake love another day

When all is undone in a moment
As motive comes to light
It's all about the material things
When all we are is casualty in another's fight

Frustrations vented, caught in the cross fire
Take it out on me
Your wall exposes your weakness
When silence let's the tension fester
And the problem is in everyone else you see

No admission of guilt and no apology
Just assume I'll let it go and depreciate your character with apathy

Lash out in the moment
All's forgiven for all that's been done
As if grace was earned on the back of our idol accomplishment
Contending for love as we are prone to harbor resentment

It's okay as long as personal sacrifice is greater than sin
Save a life and abuse the soul
Temporal hero prolonging the inevitable

Serving the fools gold kingdom of men
Bearing arms or bearing a cross
Defending shallow honors
America sure as hell ain't heaven

Patriots devotion, loyal to a dream
Expendable when disagreeable
Recalibrate our motives
Our hearts don't beat the same
Whats yours is yours
It's all I can do to play by the rules
Of an ever changing game

Just suck it up they say
As my heart burns in the hell of you
Disenchanted and disappointed
Im dead no matter what I do

Take no responsibility for the hurt
When words are just words at the end of the day
Free to speak no tongue control
And nothing is more lethal than the words we say

No accountability, no consequence
We will all of us answer for it in death
When we reap our final recompense
On the other side of our last breath

I die today, a martyr to your cause
When what you say goes
Despite the turmoil of all that's lost
You only ever did your best
I guess you're the one that knows...
