While Noi and I played on the swings, I watched Ava try to wrangle the other daemos. She was kind of failing at pulling Leif onto the blanket. I laughed while Ava told something, and I couldn't make out the words, but she was using her "sorceress voice" so it was probably a big fat lie.
Anyway, I saw Pierce a few yards, ok a lot of yards, away. Sighing I pushed myself once more and went higher than I ever had. "Uh, Carmen please be careful, your really high up!" Called Noi, and I shrugged. "Don't worry Noi, I'll be careful." I said, jumping off the swing and landing a few feet away from the swings.
When we got to the blanket, we stopped just on the edge, and I asked Leif and Asch why they where staying there. "Sorceress Ava said if we cross this barrier, we die." Said Asch, and I deadpanned. I reached on quickly and grabbed two sandwiches, handing one to you and sitting outside the blanket. I know Ava doesn't have magic, but it has to be believable to them.
"Ok, so where is Ava, and where is Pierce?" I asked, taking a bite of my sandwich. While I ate, I watched people, animals, whatever. I liked people-watching. "So why didn't you just run from Ava? She isn't that fast." I said, and started picking flowers.
"I- actually why didn't we run?" Leif asked Asch, and he shrugged, trying to open a milk carton. He was failing miserably so I took the carton and stabbed the straw through, handing it back to him. I went back to the flowers, making a flower crown, which I placed on Noi's head.
