Lisa wondered how she'd found herself in this position hiding behind the dumpsters of Skaikru Memorial. It was Tuesday night after her basketball practice. Chaeyoung was standing a few feet away from her, talking to her mom. Lisa's heart was beating out of its chest waiting in suspense. She was sure Dara couldn't see her, but didn't want to chance taking a peek.

Lisa could make out a few things over the sound of cars passing by.

"He's sleeping, but you can go on up. I have a surgery I need to get to. I've been with him all day." Dara said.

Lisa smiled hearing Chaeyoung's voice.

"Okay, thanks mom. Let's go inside." Chaeyoung said. Lisa blew out a breath as they walked away.

"Of course." Dara said after hugging her daughter.

Everything had been going according to plan until Chaeyoung saw her mother coming outside. They both panicked because her mother would see her if she hid in Chaeyoung's car as they had just pulled in.

Chaeyoung had quickly pushed Lisa in the direction of the dumpsters. Lisa immediately started shaking her head, but after a stern look from Chaeyoung, and with Dara rapidly approaching them, Lisa realized there was no other choice.

Lisa smirked when she heard the sound of heels approaching her.

"Okay, okay," Chaeyoung whispered. "She's gone." Chaeyoung wasn't looking at Lisa. She had her eyes on the entrance watching her mother head back inside.

Lisa slowly got up brushing herself off.

"You sure?"

Chaeyoung looked back at the entrance once more before locking eyes with Lisa.

"I'm sure." Chaeyoung nodded firmly. Lisa softly slipped her hand in Chaeyoung's as they walked upstairs to see her dad.

Taeyang was awake when they entered his room. He was gazing out the window and slowly craned his neck towards the door when it opened.

"Hey, dad."

"Hey, Taeyang."

They had greeted him in unison making him smile.

"Hey, guys." Taeyang rasped out. He didn't miss that they were holding hands. They untangled from each other as Lisa closed the door before sitting down.

"So, I have to ask." Taeyang stated with a small smile. Lisa saw Chaeyoung roll her eyes.

"Oh, yeah? What's that?"

"Are you two together or what?" Taeyang asked. Chaeyoung chuckled and Lisa's eyes widened.

"Yes. We are." Chaeyoung answered.

"I knew it. I just had to make sure. You guys are so secretive with it. But it's okay, you have my blessing. Lisa is perfect for you." Taeyang praised.

Lisa locked eyes with Chaeyoung smiling sadly. Lisa could still hear Taeyang's words ringing in her ears. Lisa couldn't help, but feel sad. She knew she was lying to the man, but it felt good that she was. She felt terrible for lying, but she wasn't about her feelings for his daughter.

Lisa still felt weird about what Taeyang had said the week before. Lisa knew she would do everything in her power to keep her promise, she owed it to him.

"Well, I'm glad you think so. I don't plan on letting her go anytime soon." Chaeyoung said in playful tone, but her eyes showed she meant it. Lisa smiled softly at her. Chaeyoung looked back at her with soft eyes.
