There are a few inconsistencies while watching this show so here's my explanation:
For anyone who's watched the original Boy Meets World Josh was born Feb 14, 1999 making him 15 in 2014, when GMW premiered.
According to the ski lodge episode there are six weeks between their birthdays making Maya's birthday the first week of January which in Girl Meets Master Plan (Season 1) she's said to be turning 14. Maya turns 13 1st week of January 2014 if she was born in 2001 so January 2015 she'd be 14 which puts her in 8th grade not 7th grade.
Riley was supposedly born Dec 8, 2001 making her just turn 13 the first Christmas which does put her in 7th grade. For them to be in the same grade though Riley would've been born Dec 8, 2000 to be in the same grade as Maya. Which could be true since Boy Meets World ended May 2000 so Topanga would've been only a few weeks pregnant when they left for New York.
7th grade is age 12/13,
8th grade is age 13/14,
9th grade is age 14/15
10th grade is age 15/16,
11th grade is age 16/17,
12th grade is age 17/18
So Josh is in 10th turning 16, and Maya and Riley are in 8th grade turning 14 in the first season (2014/2015)
Second season Josh is in 11th grade, the girls are in 9th grade.(2015/2016)
Third season Josh is in 12th grade, the girls are in 10th grade. (2016/2017)
My story will pick up at the ski lodge in the third season. Since they're looking at the changing of the leaves we'll assume it's end of September.
Josh is 17 and Maya is 15. The premise of him being to old is still part of their relationship.
Everything in previous episodes has occurred except for Josh getting in to NYU and going to the party. That episode hasn't happened in my little world.
