The final girl is a trope in horror films. It refer to the last girl or woman alive to confront the killer, ostensibly the one left to tell the story. The final girl has been observed in many films, including The texas chain saw massacre, Halloween, Alien, Friday the 13th, An nightmare on elm street and Scream
To understand what an final girl is, We need to look at the concept of final girls, which in this case. I'm using this as an gender neutral term. this concept define the last survivor who remained alive after all the other were murdered. this character is the one to overcome their attackers, that come up top no matter what, until the squeal at the very last. these person - who are mostly girl due to objective of female in the movies era
The common final girl have one or more of these traits,
• is an virgin, or have very little to none sex at all in the movie
• is 'different' from other people in the movie, they are socially awkward, a bit of an tom boys, isn't popular or is being bullied
• they don't do illegal activities, like drugs for example
• these people have something i like to call 'sixth sense'. they know how something is wrong. they like to investigate.
• are smart somehow, be it street smart or book smart.
• final girls can be anyone, they just need an desire to survive. despite the above traits, it is possible for final girl to have none of these trait. in fact, some final girls had survive on luck alone.
in short, to survive the following situation, you need to following your gut, have somewhat luck on your side. and an need to survive.
