The meeting had ended. She had been tasked, alongside Draco, to figure out what Harry Potter and his friends were up to. Then, she was notified she would be spending the year with the Malfoys; that way Lucius could keep a close eye on the both of them.
Draco hadn't taken his eyes off Arya for the entire meeting. His eyes were like fire, burning into her skin as she tried desperately to ignore them. Draco was a death eater too. She should have known as much. It was only a matter of time before he figured out her plan. Especially if the two were to spend the whole next year at Hogwarts together.
She excused herself to the bathroom and turned on the faucet, cupping a handful of water and quickly splashing her face, trying to get a grip back on reality.
Suddenly though, a strong arm pulled her away. Her neck felt the grasp of a strong hand and before she knew it her back was being slammed against the bathroom door. She looked up into the brightest blue-silver eyes she had ever seen. Draco.
"What the fuck are you doing here Arya?" He growled, leaning in so they were mere inches apart.
His breath smelled like peppermint, and she could swear he was wearing an expensive cologne on his neck. His grasp around her neck with light. It didn't hurt at all. Most of the pressure he was using for was pinpointed at the side of her neck, right where her main arteries sat.
"I could ask you the same thing." She growled back, using both of her hands to shove his chest away from her. He fell back slightly and shook his head, looking astounded by her strength.
"You've grown feisty since you've gone 'missing'."
"Very."
The two stood in a stalemate for a while, their eyes both searching each other's face. What they were trying to figure out however, was not quite obvious.
Draco fixed his posture and cleared his throat lightly. "Show me." He motioned to Arya's left arm slightly with his head.
"You first." She shot back.
Draco let out a soft chuckle and pulled up his sleeve, revealing the same mark she had been given. Arya did the same as him and his face dropped slightly. "So you really.... you devoted yourself to him huh?"
"Well yeah..." she stuttered. "I mean he's the most powerful wizard ever." She tried to come off as genuine, tried to make it seem as though she was his biggest supporter. "I uh... " she cleared her throat. "I would die for our Dark Lord." She nodded confidently.
Draco raised a brow at her and stepped closer to her again. Arya wanted to step back from him but she didn't, deciding again to stand her ground. Draco leaned down and pressed his lips against her ear gently. "I hope that's a lie.... because I fucking hate the guy." He whispered as softly as he could, his hand grazing Arya's softly as he lingered there.
Arya gasped softly and quickly moved her arms to wrap around Draco's neck, pulling him into a tight hug. "You're here for me aren't you?" She asked, her head being buried into his chest as he hugged her back.
"Obviously." He chuckled, his hands moving to stroke her hair softly. "Snapes helping too. Dumbledore has us assigned to help you." He pulled back gently, quickly using his finger to pull Arya's head up so he could look her in the eyes. "I hate you ninety percent of the time, you know. Don't go thinking I like you now because I'm helping you out."
Arya let out a soft chuckle. "Wouldn't dream of it." She placed her hands on Draco's chest and sighed happily. "So Snape..?"
"Double Agent. Just like us."
"That explains so much about him." She chuckled, moving her hands up to Draco's shoulders.
"Right?" Draco scoffed playfully.
"Draco?" Arya asked softly.
"Mm?" He hummed
"Why did you say yes...? To helping me..."
Draco took way too long to answer her. So much so that Arya was about to ask again. But before she could he put his hands on her waist and it took all the words out of her mouth. "You just want me to say it's because we're friends." He answered, smirking softly down at her.
"Maybe." She smirked back, giving him a soft wink.
He rolled his eyes and laughed gently. "Because, even though I want to strangle you, we are friends." Arya let out a squeal at that. "Happy now?" He groaned and pulled away from her, moving to leave the bathroom.
"Only took you four years!" Arya said loudly, moving to follow him.
She couldn't see Draco's face but she could imagine he was rolling his eyes at her. He stopped short when he came to a black wooden door. "This is your room." He smirked, leaning against the wall by the door.
Arya opened the door slowly and stepped inside. The bed was huge, adorned with black silk and a stark white headboard that looked as though it was made with velvet. At the end of the bed was a large trunk, black and adorned with silver metal fastenings. Her eyes lit up. She had been sleeping on a blanket that laid in Bellatrix's floor before now. She plopped herself onto the bed and let out a satisfied sigh. "Oh yeah, this is perfect." She smiled gently, letting her fingers slide against the silk bed sheets. She sat up and looked around more. Her eyes caught on something familiar. On the vanity in front of her sat her wand. Beech wood with a unicorn hair core, twelve and three quarter inches, unbending flexibility. Above that was a flower, but not just any flower. Purple Morning Glories. Arya's favorite.
Arya looked at Draco. "You know there's only one person who's ever known what my favorite flower is. Didnt really think he was paying attention when I told him..." she smiled gently at him, a sense of warmth filling her body.
Draco scoffed softly and looked at the flowers. "Don't be stupid" he huffed, his face snarling up at that. "Don't know who you're talking about but he would be stupid not to remember that." He rolled his eyes. "He probably remembers a lot more than you give him credit for."
Arya chuckled softly and leaned down to smell her flowers. The lush scent almost made Arya forget how awful what she was about to do was. She had signed herself up for a death sentence, that much was obvious. "Thank you Draco." She hummed.
Draco nodded gently. "Mum is going to bring you clothes here in a minute. She will put them in your trunk while you get a bath and get ready." He nodded towards the door on the other side of the room.
"Get ready?" Arya asked with a cocked brow. "What are we getting ready for?" She almost sounded worried.
Draco let out a soft chuckle. "Sunday dinner obviously." He smirked over at her. "We won't start killing muggles until Thursday."
Arya's eyes widened at that and Draco couldn't help but crack a smile. "I'm joking." Arya breathed a sigh of relief and nodded gently. "I'll see you at dinner." Draco said, before closing the door and leaving Arya with only her thoughts.
Dinner with the Malfoys. This should be fun.
