Arya tossed and turned all night, trying her best to sleep but images of what happened that night flooded her head. Harry disapparating with the cup. Voldemort running towards her, his wand at her throat. Peter Petigrew snarling at her while he did so.
Her eyes popped open and she felt her forehead wet with sweat. She couldn't stand this. The last few nights had her helplessly unable to sleep. She couldn't for the life of her silence those god-awful images.
She pulled herself to the side of the bed and sighed gently, rubbing at her forehead before pulling herself to her feet. Maybe she just needed a warm cup of tea to ease her mind. It didn't help that the Malfoy Manor stayed so cold all of the time. She pulled a sweater on over her new black silk pajamas and slipped on the new green slippers Narcissa had picked out for her before shuffling into the hallway.
She rubbed at her eyes and pulled out her wand. "Lumos." She whispered, trying her best not to be too loud and wake the others. Her wand lit up at that, casting a bright light on the walls around her.
She couldn't quite remember what door led to the kitchen. She shined her light on the doors, trying desperately to at least make sure she wouldn't accidentally enter the master bedroom. Seeing Lucius Malfoy this late at night would surely keep her awake for days.
She finally found a door that looked promising and slowly twisted the knob, pushing the door open. In front of her was a grand room. The ruby red walls were so different from the rest of the house. It almost looked welcoming. At the center of the room was a king sized bed, with lush white sheets and a fluffy grey duvet. Sitting in the middle of it, reading a black leather bound book was him.
Arya smiled to herself and watched him for a moment. He hadn't noticed her there yet and was deep in thought. His eyebrows were pushed together and his teeth sunk into his bottom lip just barely as he concentrated hard on the pages in front of him. His hair fell in front of his face, no longer slicked back with that god awful gel he usually wore. All he wore was a pair of emerald green pajama pants. She couldn't take her eyes off of his torso though. His arms were well defined. She could see the veins in them quite well through his skin, but that was nothing compared to his stomach. His abs were prominent, each of them carved into his stomach as if he were a Greek sculpture. She gulped loudly and suddenly his eyes were on her, quickly closing the book in his hands.
"What do you want?" He asked, quickly covering himself with his duvet.
Arya smiles gently to herself. "I was looking for the kitchen. I'm sorry to bother you."
Draco shakes his head gently at that and moved to get up, pulling on a black t-shirt before walking over to her. "No you're fine." He says quickly. "Follow me, I'll show you where it is." He takes her hand in his and all but pulls her through the corridor.
Arya follows close behind, her feet shuffling the ground as she does her best to keep up with his long strides. Finally they reached a door and Draco pushed it open, flicking on the light quickly. "Nox." Arya all but whispered. Her wands light went out and she slowly put her wand back into her pants pocket.
Draco let go of her hand and looked over his shoulder at her. "Cup of tea I presume?" His fingers moved to hold up a kettle. Arya nodded gently at that and gently pushed herself up onto the counter next to him as he filled the kettle with tea leaves, spices and water before putting it on the burner. He turned around and smiled gently as he saw Arya playing with a piece of her own hair which had fallen out of her messy bun. "Can't sleep?" He asked, raising a brow at her.
She shook her head gently. "Lot on my mind I guess." She sighed, looking up at him.
Something about Draco was different tonight. She no longer saw the uptight, tense boy she normally saw at school. He was more relaxed now. Even in the strands of hair the delicately fell around his face, she could see the difference. "I like your hair like that." She smiled gently at him.
