"one of the wizard's most rudimentary skills is levitation or the ability to make objects fly. do you have your feathers?"

y/n sat on one side of ron whilst hermione sat on the other. the girls raised their feathers proudly. ron glanced at the two with an eyebrow raised.

"good. now don't forget the nice wrist movement we've been practising. the swish and flick. everyone."

everyone began to repeat,

"the swish and flick." y/n said with her hand in a delicate position.

as for hermione, her pinky finger was off the wand as her form had a very posh position to it.

"wingardium leviosa. off you go." the professor said.

everyone nodded as y/n hastily picked her wand back up.

she took a breath, "wingardium leviosar!" she flicked her wand a bit too rough. she grumbled when nothing happened, making her slump.

she looked to her side and watched ron.

ron copied what y/n had said, "wingardium leviosar!" he threw his wand back and forth making her eyes widen.

hermione scoffed, "no, stop, stop, stop! you're going to take someone's eye out." she told him.

y/n snorted to which ron glared at her. he placed his wand on the desk with a thud.

"besides you're saying it wrong. it's leviosa, not leviosar." she corrected.

y/n and ron raised an eyebrow, "you do it then, if you're so clever." he said with annoyance. "go on, go on."

hermione cleared her throat and gently flicked her wand, "wingardium leviosa." straight away, the feather lifted into the air.

y/n's jaw dropped and ron looked extremely pissed off.

everyone stopped what they were doing and watched hermione in amazement.

the professor clapped, "oh, well done! see here, everyone, miss granger's done it!"

y/n and ron groaned as they both placed their heads onto their books, crossing their arms around it.

hermione saw y/n's reaction and smiled to herself, feeling accomplished.

"wingard leviosa." seamus muttered.
