"The grass was always greener on their side of the fence", Fero Trasporten thought, as he peered into the neighboring yard, belonging to Ms. Krams.
He sat there, longing to be the grass on the other side, so perfect and nicely shaped. At ease with everything, not a care in the world, no bothers at all.
He was always thinking about how nice it would be to be something else. Yesterday, he longed to be a kettle, so warm and helpful, bringing joy to the people who used it.
Today, it was Ms. Krams grass, looking vibrant as ever, and ever so soft.
Ms. Krams was always taking nice care of her grass. Fero wished someone would take care of him like that.
His calm thoughts were quickly interrupted when he heard a voice yelling from down below.
"Fero, come get your dinner!", his mother, Leticia Trasporten, yelled up the stairs to her one and only child.
"Coming mother!", he yelled back, although he had no intentions of getting off of the windowsill in his bedroom.
He was completely content with staying right where he was. He was rarely at peace, with school and friends to worry about, it was a nice change of pace that he intended on cherishing for as long as he could.
He sat in silence for another 5 minutes before hearing his stomach grumble.
He deciding it was time to go back into reality and to finally go eat his dinner.
As he walked down the stairs, he heard pots clattering. He walked into the kitchen to see his mother doing the dishes, looking bored.
He walked in silently.
"Where's dinner?", he asked his mother, not seeing any food on the table.
"I put it back in the fridge, you didn't come down in time." his mother replied, sounding rude and sarcastic.
"Fine then. I won't eat." Fero stormed back upstairs, extremely upset that his calm and content mood had been ruined by one simple exchange with his mother.
He went back to his room and climbed back onto his windowsill, staring at Ms. Krams grass once again.
At one point, he didn't notice, but he started to drift off as the sun was setting.
He hadn't got much sleep the night before, and he was just sitting at the windowsill doing nothing, so it made sense that he would drift off.
--------------
He startled awake to some sort of noise being heard from downstairs.
He was still groggy from sleeping and wasn't fully aware of what was going on, but he grabbed a baseball bat.
"If there's any threat or danger, I need to protect myself." he thought as he tip-toed his way downstairs to face the possible intruder or threat.
He wasn't faced with any danger, although he was traumatized by what he saw, any 14 year old would be.
On the living room floor was his mother, she was alive, but unresponsive. She looked sickly pale, and her body looked sunken in. She looked sick, very sick.
Fero panicked and didn't know what to do. He finally called an ambulance, thinking she just had a seizure, and that it wasn't something he should worry about too much.
Little did he know, that it was much worse than that, and he did have to worry, and that it would change his life, forever.
A.N.
Lol ok so this is the epilogue when Fero is only 14. He hasn't met any other characters except for his mom of course and some minor characters. I'll be updating with the first chapter in about 2-3 days!! It will also be written from Fero's point of view and will sometimes change!! Much love❣
