Purgatory

A loud BEEP* could be heard from afar.

"What?..."

BEEP*

"Where am I?"

BEEP*

"I feel cold."

Lizzy opens her eyes, lights blinds her sight for a moment.

As she tries to focus, her vision becomes more clear.

She seems to be in an old hospital.

She looks around to see no one, it seems to be abandoned.

"What's going on? Where is everybody?" She asked herself

She gets up to see herself in what seems to be a hospital gown and she was laying on a metal bed. Having no memory of how she got there, she gets off the bed to look around.

The hospital she seems to be in looks a little decayed and worn down. The wall's colour goes from a dark green to grey. The lights hanging on the ceiling, some about to fall, like it's hanging on by its last thread or rather in this case wire. One of the lights, in particular, grabs her attention and keeps flashing in front of this door. Then the doors windows suddenly light up. Which throws Lizzy back a little bit.

She walks towards the door and tried to peek inside it but to no avail. The window is hazy and dirty. She then hears voices inside the door. The voices seem very familiar to her. "Mom?... Dad?" To Lizzy's surprise, the voice that she was hearing seemed to have belonged to her parents. But a third voice was there as well. It was also familiar, but she can't seem to put her finger on it. It was a voice that she recognized but from long ago. They seem to be arguing about something inside but she can't audibly figure out what they are saying.

Not wanting to wait any longer Lizzy opens the door to seek out some answers as to why she's there. As she opens the door, she sees her parents sitting in front of her old high school principal. Confused as to why her parents are at an abandoned hospital as well as her principal, she enters the room. The door suddenly shuts behind her. Shocked she gasps and look behind her to see the door different. She tries to open the door with all her might, but it does not budge. She looks down to see her clothes have changed to what she used to wear as a teen.

Her parents arguing in front of the principal. " Alright. What did she do this time?" asked her dad in a demeaning manner. "You know, she probably gets this from your side." Lizzy's mom responded. "What did you say?! You've always had it out for my family." Her dad rebottled. "Now, now Mr and Mrs Duff. We're not here to argue amongst each other. We have more pressing matters to attend to." The principal added while staring at Lizzy.

Lizzy tries to get her dad's attention by grabbing her dad's arm. "Dad! Where are we? Why are we here? I was just at the hospital and why is my old principal here as well? Nothing makes sense, I'm so confused..." said Lizzy. Lizzy's dad shoves her off. 'Not now Lizzy! Can't you see we're trying to fix your mess right now!" screamed Lizzy's dad "Again" Lizzy's mom added. " I had to miss an important meeting for this." said her dad.

"You see I gathered both of you here this afternoon, for a very important matter that concerns your daughter. She was seen attacking one of her fellow students today. One being Paolo Gellman." Said menacingly by Lizzy's principal. While looking down at her through his glasses. Lizzy shocked by that statement, gets angry and lashes out." That's a load of shit! He made fun of me and sent his friends to hit me. I just fucking defended myself!" screamed Lizzy.

"Now we do not use that kind of language around here young lady." said the principal sternly. " Now that's not what Mr Gellman told me, Miss Duff." "Well Mr GELLAMAN," Lizzy said with air quotations. "Is a fucking liar!" Finished Lizzy.
