Chapter 4 (Savoir)

Max P.O.V.

Crap, what should I do, this is not good. Not good at all. I don't want to call my dad, but he'll know something is up if I don't. My eyes go back to dark brown as I reach for my phone. With a heavy sigh I call my father.

"Ahh my boy! How is everything?" His heavy Italian accent expressing his joy at hearing his only child's voice.

"Everything is... ok, how are you?" I asked nervously.

"You did not sound so sure, is there something you should tell me?"

"Umm, well you see, what happened was" my hands are dripping with sweat, I almost dropped the phone.

"SPIT IT OUT ALREADY! Gosh, what is with the teens and their stuttering and with the...." I cut him off with his small rant.

"The devil was here!" I shouted. There was complete silence on the phone. The silence was so thick, I didn't notice Roxie walk into the kitchen. All of a sudden my dad went off in Italian on the phone.

"That dumb ass mega demon! He never listens to me! I will send him to heaven if he disobeys us one more damn time! I don't give a fuck if he's the King, the rules are there for a reason!" Even though I don't speak Italian often, I grew up knowing it as a second language. He also starts yelling at my mom in Italian too.

"Nina! We have to go visit the children! The idiot if fucking stuff up again!"

"Do we have to, I'm comfy" I heard her whine in the background. My dad sighed and replied yes. He hung up the phone and I just stood there in shock and put the phone down.

"What was that about?" Roxie asked opening the fridge. I nearly jumped out of my skin and hissed lightly. I turned around towards her and she raised an eyebrow. I guess my hiss was kinda loud.

"Oh um, that was my dad, he's coming to visit and check up on things" i said quickly. She shrugged, dismissing my his.

"Oh OK, cool. So when did you get green contacts?" She wondered, looking for a bag of chips in the snack cabinet. I looked at my phones reflection and saw the my eyes had turned green, probably when I hissed.

"Oh um awhile ago, I don't really wear them though. I just felt like being different today, hehe." I mumbled looking away. Great, just freaking great. I looked at Roxie and she had a small smile on her face as she stared into space. After a couple of minutes she blushed and look down.

"Are you OK?" I asked her. She looked away and frowned a little.

"If I told you, you'd think i'm crazy" she said and walked out of the kitchen.

"You have no idea what crazy is yet" i said as I started to clean the kitchen.

Roxie P.O.V.

"He was here again girl. but it was different this time. I didn't get the pervert vibe from him. He was seductive but a gentleman at the same time." I said to Stacy.

"I swear i didn't see anyone in my bathroom Rox" she said sounding sorry.

"Its fine, I don't think anyone can see him. Maybe I'm going crazy" i said, staring at my nails.

"Maybe your just stressed out. You can stay over to relax" Stacy offered. That sounds like a good idea. I'll just tell Max where I'm at so he won't freak out. He is ok with me staying with Stacy, and said that his parents should be here tomorrow afternoon. He wants we to walk home and get my clothes though because he refuses to pick out my underwear, which I am ok with.

I yell to Stacy that i have to go get my clothes as i hop out of her window. The wind was blowing strong which made me regret leaving my jacket at home. I put my arms in my shirt and start toward my house two blocks away.

You know that feeling you get when you feel like someone is watching you? Yeah the hair on my neck is standing like a mofo. I look around and see no one. I speed up my walking only to be tripped by air.

By. Fucking. Air.

I start to have one of those mini panics and try to get up but something heavy is sitting on top of me and starts hissing. In my head I'm thinking 'oh shit there's a giant cat on my back trying to eat me.' But i'm not stupid, so i knew it wasn't that. I managed to struggle with the thing on top of me and realized that its a person, male to be exact. I tried to scream but my voice was gone, as of put on mute. The man above me hissed and held my hands above my head. I struggle and try to push him off with my legs. As I'm fighting my eyes roll to the back of my head and I pass out. I'm in this white room sitting in a chair. Across from me was a black mist and a scythe. I reach for the scythe and is slides towards me.

"Don't touch it, your not ready yet" the mist whispered. I retracted my hand and put it on my lap.

"Where am I?" I asked.

"We are in your head. I sensed you were in danger. I can help you but only if you summon me"

"And how the hell am I supposed to do that?" I asked, getting irritated.

"All you have to do, my special little Daisy, it call my name." he chuckled and the scythe flew towards him. A hand formed out if the mist and grabbed the flying weapon. The rest of his body started to form slowly and skillfully. As his face took shape I realized it was the mystery guy that no one else can see but me.

"I don't even know your name" I mumbled with a slight blush on my cheeks as I remembered our encounter with the violin.

"Come on princess, you haven't even tried to guess?" He asked playfully, his tall figure stalking towards me. I tried to back away but I was stuck in my chair.

"I-I have nothing to guess with" I shivered as he trailed his hand across my jaw, caressing my face.

"Sure you do! Think about it, I have red eyes, always wear black, no one else can see me. For goodness sake, I have a freaking scythe" he mumbled the last part. As i took in everything he just said, realization hit me like a brick. He made the 'call me' symbol with his hand and disappeared in a puff of smoke. My chair leaned back and it felt like I was being submerged into water. When I came to this man, person, thing, was tying me up. He stared me in my eyes and could tell something was different. With all the strength left in me, I broke the silence that was put on my voice, my scalp burning.

"DEATH!!!!!"
