Work and Love

(Carl's POV)
I was scared.

These people were pushing me to take me too this guy named "Steve".

I wondered where Clementine was.

Suddenly I heard something, I turned around and clem fell on the floor.

That lady that we met had pushed her.

I whipped around, Hey! I said to her.

The guards pushed me back and they started walking with me again.

We were in this type of a small school, except they treated us like prisoners.

I made it into this room, it looked like the principals room.

Someone was sitting in the chair and when he turned around I seen him holding Judith.

I was thinking to attack him but there were about 20 guards in the school and about 10-20 more outside of it.

"Hello" I said calmly.

"Could I have my sister back please?" I said a little snotty.

He gave me this scornful look and didn't say a word.

"welcome to my place" he said.

I gave him a death glare.

"I haven't even been awake here for a hour and it already feels like a prison." I said to him.

I looked around and he had a crib in the corner of his room.

He probably had kids before, I thought, they must of died of hunger or something.

He got up and placed Judith in the crib and I seen that Aj was in there too.

My name is Steve, he said.

I just stared at him.

He had beard, but it was a short, chubby one.

He was wearing a black leather jacket with some grey shoes.

He had shaggy black hair.

Steve looked like the type of person who haunts you dreams.

He looked at me once more and said, time to get to work kid, and pushed me too the door.

(Clem's POV)
Elizabeth Took me outside.

There was a big wide area with trees surrounding it and a lake in the middle.

There was rocks and long grass spread out everywhere.

First job, Elizabeth said.

She gave me a hammer.

Use that to chop down the trees.

"I need something sharp, not a hammer to cut a tree" I say.

Well your not aloud to have anything sharp, she says at me real sharp.

I started working when Carl came out with someone pushing him.

The guard gave him a knife and pushed him towards Elizabeth.

Do what she's doing, she said and laid down to take a nap.

"I think she's supposed to watch us" I say to Carl.

Ya, well she's tired which is a good thing for us, he says the me.

I stop cutting the tree and just take a walk around the lake.

"We have to get out of here" I say.

"It's just like carvers camp."

He has Aj and Judith in a crib in his office, Carl said.

"What!" I say and turn around.

He has blood all over the floor in his office, says Carl, which doesn't make me feel any better.

I start to just walk around thinking of a plan when I step on something.

I pick it up.

It's the photo of Lee.

"But how?" I say and notice a water path way going away from the school.

I hug the photo, look at it for a bit longer, then I put it in my pocket.

What was it? Carl asked.

"It was the photo of Lee that I had.." I said.

A breeze comes through the air.

Im so glad winter is almost over, Carl says.

"Ya, me too" I say.

I sit down on a rock and just look at the water.

Carl sits down next to me, so I rest my head on his shoulders.

He puts his arm around me.

You know I'm not going to let anything happen to you, right? Carl says.

I look up at him and smile.

He does, I think, he really does like me.
