Crypto's POV
"I don't understand why she would just leave. Was it something you said? Did you say you love her and it freaked her out?" Witt keeps pressing for answers as we walk towards the vault near Train Yard. Earlier in the match, Rampart picked up a vault key and since this is the only closed one left, we decided to go for it.
"Maybe it was something you did. Like, you didn't fuck her good enough. Or perhaps you have a," I turn to look at Rampart as she speaks. She starts to giggle and holds up her pinky finger, curling it a few times. "One inch pinch?"
Witt laughs at her comment, but stops when I glare at him. He clears his throat and looks down at the ground nervously. "Or, y'know, she could have left cuz it was too big? We weren't trying to say you have a small dick. It's just a joke. And even if it is, who cares?" At this point he's just making the situation worse. Rampart claps her hand over his mouth. "Mate, you should stop talking. What's going on in his pants is his business."
"Can we just stop talking about my penis? I don't see how this conversation is going to benefit us." I spit and walk past them into the tunnel leading to the vault.
It's bad enough that they had to bring up Y/N when I'm trying to forget her. Now I just want the match to end so I can check up on her.
The night I had to take out the chip in her neck, I just added another one. I'm not obsessed, I'm just trying to make sure she's safe. I don't want her to die because of me.
Not a day goes by where I don't think about following her. I'd give anything just to see her again.
"Well, it's not everyday you find the most paranoid person alive not paying attention to their surroundings." I jump and instantly aim my Devotion in the direction of the voice.
Great. The person I've been dreading to face for these past five weeks. So far, I've been succeeding in avoiding Roze. I haven't faced her in a match, nor have I walked into her in the hallways or the common room.
I should have expected this to happen eventually. "What's on your mind, Love? You seem troubled." Roze purrs as she slowly approaches me. She has a Wingman by her side, but it doesn't seem like she's planning on using it right now. "If I didn't know any better I'd say you're thinking about someone."
Like she doesn't know. I don't really have the time for her right now.
Just as she gets closer I pull the trigger. By her facial expression when she hears the gun charge up, I can tell she knows it's over.
.....
Y/N has been in the same spot for a few weeks now. She does leave every now and then, but it seems like she's staying at that location.
I stare at my monitor with Y/N's location displayed, debating whether or not I should go see her.
You know what? Screw it.
I get up, switch off my PC, grab my jacket and run out of the room. I've never felt this anxious and excited at the same time.
Does Y/N even want to see me? Probably not.
My pace slows as I approach the exit, doubts filling my mind.
There's a reason she left. It's because of me. I shouldn't have told her who I am. Then she'd have no reason to risk this much just to stay alive. If I stuck with Hyeon Kim she might still have been here.
"Where are you headed, Love?"
I'm not sure if I'm more annoyed at who the voice belongs to or the fact that she keeps calling me 'Love'.
