He's my friend

TOMMY POV

I was awake the instant I felt someone grab my arm. I quickly got my sword from my inventory  and protectively stood over Tubbos sleeping form.

"Wow there. Someone's a bit jumpy this morning."

I let out a sigh. It was just Techno.

I put my sword back in my inventory and rubbed the back of my stiff neck as I carefully made my way over Tubbo, careful not to wake him.

"What do you want Techno? Can't you see that I was clearly sleeping" I quietly whispered to him.

"Yea yea whatever sleeping beauty. Anyway get your coat where're going outside."

I stared at him in confusion. Outside? But why?

I didn't question him and quickly threw my jacket on. Getting a bit of fresh air doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I followed Techno out the door but took a quick last glance at Tubbo before closing the door behind me.

The air was cold. Way too freaking cold. It nipped at my exposed nose and ears. I shivered.

Ugh. Why did Techno have to make his house in a SNOW biome. I'd honestly take living in the desert then being out here.

I looked at Technos walking form in front of me.

"Hey Techno? Where are we going?"

"We're going to a cave that I need you to mine in for me. So far it's been really good and I haven't explored it all yet so I need you to explore the rest of it and get as many diamonds as possible."

"Oh. Okay. Can't I just go back and wake Tubbo up so he can join? I feel like it would be a good ide-"

"No. We're already here." He said as he stood in front of the opening of a cave.

"Plus, Tubbo could be plotting against you right as we speak. I don't want him anywhere near you after he's recovered. He could kill you you know?

I laughed that was the most absurd thing I'd ever heard. Tubbo killing me? Not a chance.

"Wow Techno that's a real good one. The guy who lives bees killing me. Nice one."

I quickly wiped the tears of laughter from my eyes.

Techno sighed. "Look Tommy I'm just looking out for you." He walked over to me and laid a hand on my shoulder. "He exiled you Tommy. Abandoned you. He didn't even come visit you once! What makes you think that he won't kill you?"

I flinched at his words the laugh in me gone.

"No Techno. Your wrong. Tubbo is my friend. He wouldn't do that."

Techno merely chuckled. "Oh Tommy. You're far to innocent. You really still think of him as a friend? Well let me tell you something Tommy. He doesn't think of you as a friend. He never has. That was made clear after he exiled you. A true friend would have found another way. But he didn't. He exiled you and left you alone. Tommy he doesn't care about you. At this point he probably only wants to use you for his own self gain."

I stood there frozen. His words sinking in. He isn't right. Is he?

Or m-maybe he is right. Maybe Tubbo really doesn't care about me anymore.

But... I still care about him.

I quickly wiped the tears slowly falling down my face. And shrugged his hand off my shoulder turning to the opening of the cave.

"Shut up Techno. I don't need you telling me who and who isn't my friend."

"Oh really? Says the person who thinks Dream is his friend."

I flinched again. I didn't have anything to say.

"Anyway just mine down there for a bit and think of what I said okay? Again, Tommy, I'm only looking out for you because I care about you. You're my friend after all. I'll be at the house with Tubbo if you need anything. Can't have him waking up at my house unsupervised."

He swiftly turned and left.

I stood at the mouth of the cave his words washing over me.

"Tubbo. You are my friend."

I stared up at the dark cloudy sky.

"Right?"
