Sirius Black's Daughter

Chapter 3

Lily's pov:

I hear gasps and see everyone staring at me. People were whispering and I caught some of the conversations.

"Black, like Sirius Black? The mass murderer?" I look down as I walk to the stool and sit down.

"Hmm." The sorting hat said. "I see a thirst to prove yourself. You also seem very brave and strong. Better be... Griffindor!!!!!!!!" I look up and walk quietly to the Griffindor table. As I go I see people glaring at me suspiciously. I see Harry, Ron and Hermione and walk over.

"Um can I sit here" I ask.

"Sure" Harry said. I gratefully sit down and stare at my plate, not saying anything. I eat my food and quickly go to the common room and sit down on the couch in front of the fire. Suddenly the portrait hole opened and Harry walks in, followed by Ron and Hermione. Harry sees me by the fire and walks over. He sits down next to me and looks at me for a while.

"Are you related to Sirius Black?" He finally asks. I nod.

"He's my father. I've never met him though. My mum talks about how traitorous he is all the time." I say bitterly.

"That must be tough" Hermione says. I nod again and she gives me an awkward hug, which I gratefully accept and I hug her back. I look up and see Ron is still staring at me mistrustfully. I sigh.

"My mom didn't want me to come to Hogwarts because she thought nobody would want to be friends with my because of my stupid dad. I finally convinced her to let me go but only because my Uncle Remus is teaching" I explain. Harry looks sympathetic.

"Don't worry, we won't judge you for what your father did" Hermione reassures me. Ron looks at the ground when Hermione said that and I can tell that he doesn't fully trust me.

"Why did your mum marry your dad if he was a death eater and a mass murderer?" Ron finally speaks up. I stare at him.

"She didn't know. He was a spy and nobody suspected him. He doesn't even know I exist." I mutter the last part to myself.
