Gally chuckles as he jumps around getting himself pumped, while I just walk around with a devilish smirk on my face rolling up the sleeves to my jacket.
"Are you sure you want to do this, Adriana?" Alby asks stepping beside Newt and Greenie.
"Gladers! What do you say? Gally and I?" I yell as Gally and I keep our eyes locked continuing walking in the circle.
Their cheers fill the air like thunder as I smirk over at Alby.
"I got this, don't worry." I grin to myself before starting to charge at Gally.
Gally moves aside as he grabs me by the shoulders pushing me into the ground. I wince in pain before shaking my head, leaning on my arms as I get back to my feet. I look over and see Greenie getting pushed back by Newt and Alby; kinda looks like he was going to run in and help me.
"Looks like you should train a bit more." Gally chuckles before I wipe the dirt off my face, playing a devilish smirk on my lips.
"I let you have that one." I say as Gally makes the first move, charging at me ready to spear me into the ground again.
Greenie's face almost looked frightened for me; I wink over at him before grabbing Gally's arm and twisting it around his back making him stand up right so his arm doesn't break.
"Don't underestimate me." I whisper against Gally's ear before kicking his feet out from under him, letting his arm go.
Gally fell to the ground, coughing and wincing while holding his arm; he rolls over and looks up at me.
"Finally, an actual opponent." Gally manages to chuckle as the Gladers cheer for me for beating the undefeated.
I smile before offering my hand down, helping Gally up. Gally stands up and wraps his arm around my shoulders with a grin before holding up a glass that a Glader had given him.
"We all know why this gorgeous woman is our leader, she may be just a girl." Gally starts looking around the Gladers. "But she is one badass who is stronger than all of us."
Gally's eyes fix on my face.
"Thanks for a fight that was finally challenging." Gally adds before leaning down and pecking my cheek.
I grin before looking over at Greenie, Alby and Newt; Gally follows my gaze and removes his arm around me and steps forward.
"What do you say, Greenie? Want to test your skills?" Gally asks with a challenging glare before I step back into the circle of boys.
I look around as the Gladers start chanting 'Greenie! Greenie! Greenie!" His eyes looking around slightly scared and looking for help; the end up stopping on mine for a minute. I just smile and nod, motioning for him to put Gally in his place which I'm sure the new guy would love to do. Finally, Greenie steps forward and I clap and cheer him on; Gally glances at me before tossing Greenie to the ground.
"Get up, Greenie. You're embarrassing yourself." Gally chuckles as he gets up and dusts himself off.
"Stop calling me Greenie!" He glares as the Gladers starts making 'ooooo' sounds as if it were a threat.
"Sure...what do you want to be called? Shank?" Gally smirks before Greenie charges at Gally again this time, Gally grabs him and starts pushing him back. His feet sliding in the dirt heading back towards the outta circle. Then Greenie quickly moves and hits Gally's back taking him off guard and putting him into the ground. I laugh softly and nod impressively.
"Not bad for a Greenie-" He starts before Gally swings his legs around, making Greenie trip and fall hard against the dirt.
The Gladers wince as they watch him fall hard against the ground; Greenie gets up, excited and relived written all over his face.
"Thomas! Thomas!" He repeats as smiles starts to appear on his and the Gladers faces. "I remember my name! My name is Thomas!"
"Let's hear it for Thomas!" Alby yells as the Gladers cheer for him finally remembering his name.
Everyone moved in on Thomas, centering him as we chat his name; 'Thomas! Thomas! Thomas!' They repeated as they handed him the drink as if to say 'you're finally one of us'.
Gally stepped forward, leaving Thomas and the Gladers look at him curiously unsure of what Gally would do.
"Good job...Thomas." Gally says with an awkward smile as he shakes his hand.
I smile before jumping on Thomas happily.
"Congrats on your name." I laugh as he hugs me.
Just as everyone was happy and cheerful a shrieking roar comes from behind the Glade walls; everyone's faces turn to the closed walls with slightly frightened faces even though we were safe in the Glade. I don't think Thomas realized, but he grabbed my hand as soon as the deadly growl was heard; I glance up at him as I see his chest moving while he keeps staring at the wall.
"What was that?" Thomas asks looking down at me as give his hand a gentle squeeze.
"That my friend, was a Griever." I respond. "Don't worry, you're safe here with us."
I can feel the glare Gally had on me and Thomas; I let go of Thomas' hand slowly as Alby starts to talk.
"I think that's enough excitement for one day, let's go to bed." Alby orders as the crowd slowly starts disappearing.
Newt, Alby, Gally, Winston, Minho, myself and the rest of the Keepers stay here to clean up the small mess of the party. Thomas looks at me walking away from him before catching up.
"Aren't you going to bed?" Thomas asks as I stop with a smile.
"After the clean up." I say motioning to the Keepers. "The Keepers clean up and make sure everything is tidy for tomorrow."
"Did you want a hand?" Thomas offers as a bite my lip slightly with a small smile.
"I like you, ya know." I mention, tapping his chest with my index finger. "You're curious, adventurous and you wanna help. But you should rest Thomas, it's been a big first day for you and tomorrow we'll put you to work to see what you're made of."
Thomas just nods with a small sigh.
"I'll be here tomorrow, I'll wake you up." I nod softly before motioning him to the Homestead. "Go to bed."
Thomas flashes me a small smile before walking away, heading towards the Homestead. I walk back over to the Keepers and start picking up pieces of the broken glass I found on the ground by some logs.
"So Adriana and Greenie, aye?" Newt chuckles while cleaning up the plates around the fire.
I just let out a laugh and shake my head.
"You're so immature, Newt." I say rolling my eyes as Alby shakes his head.
"He's right, Thomas looks like he's taken a fancy by you." Alby adds looking up making the Keepers glance around, ears dropping on our little conversation.
I just shake my head, not having eye contact with any of them as I pick the broken glass up.
"Not true, I'm the one that gave him all he needs to know earlier so he trusts me." I say with a slight shrug.
"I agree, you guys are reading too much into nothing." Gally says a hint of jealousy in his voice. "He's only been here barely a day, nothing more-"
"Sounds like someone's jealous." Winston mentions, having a few chuckles around the Keepers.
"Do you want to keep that mouth?" Gally threats glaring deathly at Winston.
"Gally, we all know how you feel about Adriana. Even she knows; you'd have to be blind not to see you like her." Minho adds, leaning against a tree with a smirk playing on his lips.
Everyone turns to look at Gally; my gaze looks up and meets his. Gally scoffs before throwing the bucket on the ground before walking away. I look at the Keepers.
"I'll talk to him, are you guys right here?" I ask dropping the glass in the bucket with pleading eyes.
"Go ahead." Alby says nodding softly.
I take off in a jog after Gally.
"Hey, wait up." I say jogging as Gally continues his fast pace at walking. "Gally, wait!"
I grab his arm causing him to stop and I stand in front of him.
"The boys were just having a bit of fun." I sigh, keeping ahold of his hand in my grip.
"So you believe them? You think I like you and not just the sex?" Gally asks seriously motioning back to the Gladers.
"I don't know Gally, I don't." I say shaking my head. "Like lately you've been different, saying how nice it is and talking actual feelings and stuff. It just seems like you want more than just meaningless sex."
"Yeah, well...they're wrong. You're wrong." Gally glares at me as I sigh and shake my head. "I only talk about that stuff because I trust you, you're reading into this way too much."
"Then that's fine Gally, you don't need to explain yourself to me." I add looking up with pleading eyes. "Maybe we shouldn't do it tonight."
Gally looks at me sadly; he didn't say a word before I started to walk away.
"You forgot." Gally says as I stop in my tracks waiting for him to continue. "We promised...We promised to never go to bed angry or upset and hell, call me stupid but I think we're upset at the moment. And if you're not, I am."
I nod softly before turning around.
"Then what? Have angry sex?" I ask cocking a brow throwing both my hands in the air.
"We don't have too...We can just talk or not do anything." Gally shrugs. "You know I care a big deal for you and I don't wanna end tonight on a bad note."
I nod softly before stepping forward with a slight smile; I take his arm in mine and lead him back to the Homestead.
