Hiro left an ugly kitten at my door. I motioned him inside. "Just so you know, I'm really not interested in your life."
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes. "How long do they plan on leaving you here with me?"
"Just until you can be trusted." Takuto pouted.
I stopped and walked up to him, "Me? Isn't it the other way around? You guys are complete strangers. What if you made up everything you said? Yet you are still here." I smiled at him.
He gulped and moved back a little. "Where do I sleep?"
"You are lucky. I have an extra room. The only thing is that there isn't a bed. We can go tomorrow and get you a kids size bed." I giggled.
He mocked my face and went into his room. I turned and went into my room.
I dropped on my bed and grabbed the dairy.
I opened it up and started reading it from the very beginning. Halfway through the reading, a picture fell from inside the diary.
I picked it up and saw my great-grandfather with five kids. These must be those guys.
I got up and went to my computer.
I scanned the photo and analyzed it. It's real.
I bit my lip. I got my phone and called my dad.
"Hello?" A deep voice answered on the other end.
"Dad. I miss you." I tell him.
I heard him chuckled, "Already? Did you settle in fine?"
"Yes. It is beautiful here." I smile. "I actually called you to ask you something."
"What is it?" He asks.
"Did great-grandpa have friends with grandkids?" I lay on my bed.
"Mm. Yes. Your grandpa's friends were always creating things with him. I do know most of them had some grandkids. I think you have even met some." He starts explaining. "You went almost everywhere with him, so I know for sure you were close to those kids. Why?"
"Nothing. I think I had a reunion with these guys today." I sighed.
"Well, that's good. You have more friends in Japan. Isn't that exciting?" He asks.
"Yea, I guess. Well, thank you, dad. I'll head to bed, now." I let him know.
"Okay, honey. Have a goodnight. I love you." We hung up.
I bit my nail and headed to the kitchen. I put some water to boil. Will Takuto want some ramen?
I was about to ask him when he came out of the bathroom. He stops and dries his hair, "I used the bathroom. I hope that's okay?"
"It's fine. You'll be staying here, so make yourself at home." I look away and head back to the kitchen. "I'm making some ramen. Would you like some?"
"Yea, that sounds nice." He goes into his room and comes out with a shirt on. I put the ramen in the water.
I take out some beer and place it on the table.
I serve the ramen, and we sit down at the table. We eat quietly, not knowing what to say to each other.
Takuto cleared his throat, "I heard you talking to your dad."
I raised an eyebrow, "Yea. Eavesdropping?"
He chokes on his food. I laugh and pat his back. "Just a little. What did he say?"
"He proved you authentic." I drank some beer.
"I told you." He started coughing again.
"You need to stop talking and eating if you can't do both." I laughed again and helped him out.
"I guess you aren't so bad." He looks away.
"What does that mean?" I look at his face.
"You seem softer when you smile." He blushed.
I cleared my throat and got serious, "Don't get used to it."
After we finished eating, I cleaned up the table. "Want to watch some TV before heading to bed?" Takuto asked me.
"Sure." We sat down in front of the TV and watched an English show.
"You understand English, right?"
I looked at him, blankly, "I thought you were a hacker genius. I guess not."
He pouted and grabbed my cheek, "What did you say?"
"I came from the states, so it's obvious that I know English, smartass." I grabbed his cheek.
"I knew that. I just wanted to see if you were an idiot." He finally let me go.
Takuto
I don't know why, but I felt comfortable with her. Just a couple of hours ago, she was trying to kill us, but now she seems like a harmless bug.
We ate some ramen, and now we are watching TV. I put on Stranger Monsters, and she seemed to be okay with it. Most girls hate dark things like this.
After an hour in the show, I see Azumi nodding off. I move closer to her, and she lays her head on my shoulder.
She was fast asleep. I grabbed the blanket behind us and covered her up. I continued watching the show.
Before I knew it, I was falling asleep as well. I laid my head on top of hers and closed my eyes.
