I sat in the backseat of our small white 2009 350z, looking out the window at the small shops and resturants I'm so used to seeing. My dad is driving, and my mom is in the passenger seat playing with the radio.  She turned on the usual beach station and "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker came on. I rolled down my window and the smell of the salty ocean automatically filled my nose as I let out a deep sigh , home sweet home. My parents and I have been going to the same beach house since even before I was born. The beach house is in the South Hamptons , about 2 hours away from our real home ,  in Connecticut. Most people who reside in the South Hamptons are caucasian , so we definitly stand out in this town. My dad is  African American , he moved to America when he was 12. He lived in the Bahamas for basically all of his childhood. He has dark curly hair , very frizzy and childish , and a strong build. He's tall, almost 6'2, and a deep voice . Sometimes people find him hard to understand because his Bahamian accent is still very strong , even though he hasn't lived there in years, but I can understand him from being around him so often. My mother on the other hand , is quite different. Her parents moved to America from Japan In the late 70's to try to have a better life for themselves. Therefore, my mother is born in America but full japenese. My mother is probably one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. She has long, shiny black hair that almost touches her lower back, and a slim body frame. She is short, 5'3 , and very fit. Her eyes are slim but are a deep green, which is very rare for an Asian woman. Now clearly I stand out too, being a complete mix of their opposite genes. Some features are my dads, the fat lips and the curly hair, but my slim green eyes are generated from my mother. I'm tall , taller than my mom, around 5'5. Average height. I have no boobs whatsoever, but I do pack a little booty from the islands genetics. I have light skin, and the most prominent feature that stands out is my freckles. Most people at school don't call me my real name. Only my real friends call me my name , most people just call me "mixed girl" , or "blasian". There arent any other mixed kids at school so I definitely stand out. I wish I wasn't mixed, I would never tell my parents this, but I wish I was just plain white. Plain like paper. Blonde hair, blue eyes, skinny legs, blend in like the rest of the population. "Jenai!", my mother yells to me , causing me to fall out of my day dream. I quickly roll up the window and look at her through the side view mirror. "We are pulling up to the house, please be ready to unpack the car." She said. I look out the window and realized I hadnt been paying attention for at least 10 minutes. The beach is now right behind the row of big houses were driving past , and the small town is behind us. The town of south Hamptons is fairly small, so it only takes about 30 minutes to drive through. We pull up to our old beach house and right away my heart starts to beat, my summer is about to begin.
