''James, come look'' A little girl shouts across the street. She has long black hair and dark eyes. She has freckles splattered across her face and is grinning as her brother runs up to her.

''Did you find it?'' He asks as soon as he is within earshot. Of course within earshot was not far away with all the people doing their annual Christmas shopping.

"See for yourself" She moves out of the way as her brother stared open mouthed at the racing broom in the window of Quality Quidditch supplies.

There in all its glory stood the newest, fastest (and most expensive) racing broom. The Comet one seventy-eight

The twins stood there next to each other a million thoughts running through their heads.

I breaks out of my trance because of a loud whistle. The train is off. I am on my way to Hogwarts. I sigh and look out the window.

Trees and meadows fly past the glass as I continues thinking.

Life used to be so much easier. Me and my brother used to be so close but about three years ago we started drifting apart. We stop talking and somewhere along the way it turned into hate

Maybe hate was the wrong word. More like dislike. We would send snide comments to each other and found it unbearable to be in the same room. As much as I am exited from Hogwarts I doubted that it would get better there.

All of a sudden I heard a knock and turned my head to the compartment door. There are two figures in the doorway.

The first figure is a girl with long light blonde hair and bright green eyes. She was smiling happily with pink lips and rosy cheeks and held a grey tabby cat.

Behind her is a boy with ruffled black hair and a bit scary looking grey eyes. He was quite tall and had a thick leather book under his arm.

"Hi" the girl says in cheery voice "mind if we sit here?" She asks. I shook my head and they walk in and sit down opposite me.

The girl talks first " Hi, my name is Lola Rain and this is Jace Salmer." Jace gives me a slight nod in acknowledgement.

"Nice to meet you, I am Ruby Potter" I introduce myself with a smile. "What is your cats name?" I ask

"Willow" Lola replies. "My favourite tree"

"That's a very pretty name" I say as willow jumps into lap and falls asleep instantly

We continue chatting until somebody opens our compartment.

I look up and see to my surprise James. "What do you want" I say coldly. As soon as James sees me his expression falls "Oh, it's you. Sorry, wrong compartment. Wouldn't want to talk to someone as like as you anyways."

We hear somebody shouting his name and he hurries away. "What's his problem?" Jace asks. "That's my brother" I say. "Well he sounds like a big old git to me" We all laughed at that comment until we hear somebody else knocking.

"Any thing from the trolley dears?" An old grey haired woman asks us.

"Yes please." I say and go up to the trolley. I get some chocolate frogs and cauldron cakes and walk back inside. "Want some?" I ask the others as they nodded and took some sweets.

Jace opens a chocolate frog and looks at his card. "Morgana, that's a new one" "Really, Ive got about a dozen of her." I say incredulously. " I'm kidding" he says. "Everybody's got her" "I don't" Lola says surprised. "You don't eat chocolate frogs"

We continue joking around and fall into fits of laughter.

"We should change" I look at Lola and she adds. " We should be there soon." "Good point" Jace says and grabs his robes before walking out of the compartment.

"Aw, how sweet. He is giving us privacy" I mumbled. Lola heard and started giggling. Once we finished changing into our robes we start to look for Jace.

We see him walking down the corridor. When he comes into earshot Lola shouts "What took you so long?"

He gives her a look and replies with a hint of amusement in his voice "There was a line to the cubicles"

"How long have you known each other?" I ask. Lola grins and says "Three weeks. Met each other at the Leaky Cauldron." "Knew from first glance that she was a weirdo" Lola punches his arm but giggles at the same time.

We fall into a comfortable silence when Lola looks into our eyes and asks us "Can you two promise me something?"

She pauses and we motion for her to continue.

"Can you promise me that doesn't matter witch house we get sorted into we will stay friends?"

"Of course" Jace says and I can see her shoulders relax a bit. "Have a feeling that we will do great things" At that the train comes to a halt and we get out. We were there at last.

We have come to Hogwarts.
