"... My child wake up we don't have much time you need to wake up."
" Momma?",the child said as she sat up in her bed, rubbing her eyes. The woman smiled sweetly and said" yes my child. We have to hurry."
"Mama what is going on." The child looked up at her mother, feeling her distress and anxiety.
" We have to go baby." The woman pulled her out of the bed and walked out the door, into the hallway and down the stairs, her steps, showing her urgency.
" Momma what's going on, why you in such a hurry, where are we going. Is he coming again?, do we need to leave?". The woman spared a quick glance at her daughter but saw the look of curiosity, confusion on her face. Her daughter, she realized, was too mature for just her age of five.
" Don't worry honey we're just going to the living room. No need to be afraid." She saw the look on her daughter's face change from confusion to braveness as she lifted up her chin and said " am not afraid" The woman just smiled as a surge of pride flowed through her. As they reached the bottom of the stairs, the child could see lit candles that were arranged in a circular form. Inside the circle was her grandmother, on her knees, saying some incantations. Beside her, was a bowl and a knife and as she saw this, she knew already what to do. Her grandma stopped as she neared the circle, her anxiety and fear sipping into the child
" Hurry child, we don't have much time left." As she entered the circle, she could see another figure entering . Her Uncle. He didn't possess the gifts the women shared but he stood as their protector
        " Concentrate child" grandma admonished."
" yes grandma" came her meek reply
Her grandma smiled and kissed her forehead and whispered " I love you"
The child frowned in confusion but didn't have the time to dwell on it as her grandma took her palm and made a cut. She winced in pain but only for a second as her wound closed up. She wasn't surprised knowing she was more than just a witch
her grandma took her hands in her own and held it over the bowl containing her blood and started saying some incantations the child started feeling an overpowering pain in her head and she tried pulling away but her grandma's grip on her hands were firm her eyes involuntary closed but the pain didn't stop neither did her screams. In the distance she could hear the the door being pushed repeatedly and she could also hear the shouts and the sounds made the pain in her head to increase. She wanted to tell them to stop but she was getting weaker but her grandma continued she opened her eyes but she could only see blurry images.
She saw as the doors were broken down and dread filled her. Guards which meant he was here. Once inside the room, the guards started towards herself and her grandma but her uncle didn't let them. He drew out his sword and cut them down and it was at this point that she realised why he was the most skilled swordsman after the king. But more kept coming and she wanted to help, she knew she could help but she was week and just then, her grandma was roughly ripped away from her. She could see her mum and uncle and Grandma all lined up on their knees but then she instantly went blank and she fell to the ground.
Her family members looked towards her and a deep sense of regret and fear overtook them. Then the King strode in. He stopped when he was in front of them and said " thank you for doing what you have just done you. Made my work easier. "He's smiled at them but it wasn't a friendly smile it was more sinister. Looking towards the guards the king said "deal with the man and the old woman" pointing to the woman he said " I'll take care of this one later."
He went over to the sleeping child and gathering her in his arms, he smiled. He was one step closer
