dear john
Annabeth sat on the couch of the apartment she and Percy lived in, a blue blanket covered her legs and she had a bag of peanut butter M&M's in her hand and their cat, waffle sat pressed against her side, asleep. Tears leaked from her eyes as she watched the movie "Dear John" alone. Percy didn't want to watch it with her so he was stretched out across the couch asleep with his head in her lap. Annabeth tried to wipe away the tears, but it was useless. she was bawling. Percy opened one eye and stared up at her. "Annabeth? are you alright?" "He... and she... John.... and he..." she attempted through her tears. Percy cocked an eyebrow at her. it was only a movie. She hugged him tight and murmured into his shoulder. "you are not allowed to join the army." she told him firmly. "okay." Percy reassured her. "I won't."
how many months he had been gone for when Hera kidnapped him.
how old he was when he saw his first monster
how many minutes it took to make microwave pizza
how many dollars it took to buy two movie tickets at their favorite movie theater
how many hours of sleep a night he aimed for
how many years him and Annabeth had known each other before getting married
seventy eight percent
"Annabeth?" Percy asked. they were watching TV on the couch one night after school. "Hm?" Annabeth answered looking up from her laptop. "if I can control water, does that mean I can control 78% of the human body?" annabeth raised and eyebrow at him. " I don't think that's how it works. " Percy stared at her for a moment and then sighed. "I think it's malfunctioning. you aren't doing the macerena. "
grown up
Sally Jackson's pov
I fumbled with the keys for a moment before finding the right one. I struggled with the knob because my arms were full if groceries. I walked into the apartment and the stress from the earlier day all but disappeared as I kicked my shoes off. The lights were turned off, but the sound of the TV was audible. I walked into the kitchen and set down the heavy bags of groceries and put them away. With a cup of coffee, I walked into the darkened living room. The glow of the TV and Annabeth's laptop illuminated Percy and Annabeth's sleeping faces. They were cuddled up on the couch with a blanket covering them up. I smiled at Percy's content face. Even when he couldn't see that he loved annabeth, I did. It made me the happiest mom in the world to see how devoted they were to each other. I had never actually realized how grown up my little boy was until he started dating Annabeth. Percy wasn't the little boy who pestered me for a bath every day, who sat in my lap and watched NEMO every Friday night, who I baked blue cakes for and bought blue jelly beans for occasionally. Now he was the guy any girl would be lucky to have, the boy who was in love with the girl he'd been through the most with, the boy who fell to the deepest darkest pit of the underworld for the girl he loved. Percy wasn't my little boy anymore. He was all grown up.
importance
Percy sat on the couch in black sweats and a T-shirt. The TV was on and his four month old son Caleb was balanced on his knees, so that they were facing each other. Percy was making funny faces at him to make him laugh. Caleb was giggling and shrieking with delight. Annabeth stared at them lovingly and knew indefinitely that neither of them were aware of the importance they played in her life.
waterproof
"Damn waterproof mascara" Annabeth muttered as she rubbed her eyes with a makeup removal wipe in front of the mirror in the bathroom of her and Percy's apartment. "this is why I don't wear makeup." she told Percy, who was sitting on the couch and watching TV. "It's a hassle, annoying, and a pain to wear." Percy looked up amused. two seconds later, Annabeth was doused from head to toe, black streaks ran down her face. Percy chuckled. "so much for waterproof."
