"Wait, so tell me again how you broke your wrist." Madi said and I let out an awkward laugh.

"Yeah, uhm. I... or, I shouldn't say 'I'. More like my whole family pitched in and we actually like rented a boat for Owen for Christmas. I thought it would be fun since we live on the beach and everything. The funny thing is, I really don't know how I didn't expect for him to somehow talk me into remaking that.. scene." I said, hoping it was vague enough that Madi wouldn't know what I was talking about. It's not that there was anything wrong with the scene, or the movie. It's just that we spent an embarrassingly long time trying to perfect it for no reason, and when you put the two of us together, it... takes a while to actually get shit done. I didn't really want to admit that we spent literal days trying to make our own version of a silly dance from a movie. Nevertheless, by the look on her face, it was obvious that she knew exactly what I was talking about.

"Why Did It Have To Be Me from Mamma Mia Here We Go Again, right? Oh my god, please tell me you recorded it. Did he wear a captains hat? Did you guys actually do the-"

"No. We didn't record it. Owen wanted to but I said no. But, there was a captains hat involved. And also, he dropped me a few times, so there's that. In fact, that's kinda actually what happened that last time. That's why we're in the damn emergency room now. He's sitting there feeling bad." I said, flipping the camera to show her that Owen was sitting in a chair on the opposite side of the room, then flipped the camera back to me and leaned closer to my phone to whisper; "He should feel bad after what he did."

"It was an accident! And I said I'm sorry." Owen said and leaned his head back against the wall. He was definitely upset.

"I'm just kidding around, Owen. I know you didn't mean to. You'd never hurt me on purpose."

"Wait, this still doesn't tell me how you broke your wrist." Madi said.

"Oh yeah, uh, we were trying to do that one move from the movie and he started to fall and got scared so he pulled me down with him. And then I got scared he'd hit his head on the ground a little too hard and get a concussion so I quickly put my arm under his head to like cushion the blow.... Yeah, his hard head broke my arm. Well, actually, it wasn't his head, it was more like a combination of the way his head fell on it, and the way my arm itself landed on the ground, but anyways." I said and Madi stifled a giggle.

"Only you two would manage to make that much damage from something like that. You two must have fallen pretty hard." Madi said and I nodded my head in response. "Didn't think you two would be falling for each other this soon, or that you would take it that literally, but alright."

"Oh please, I did not fall in love with Owen." I said, and Owen stood up and walked over to me before grabbing my phone from me.

"I just want to make it known that Charles Jeffrey Gillespie-Joyner is a liar. He definitely fell in love with me. He's head over heels in love." Owen said and I rolled my eyes.

"Oh come on, I said I loved you once." I argued.

"Twice, actually. And then you straight-up told me that you fell in love with me. Don't you remember? Or did you hit your head too somehow?" Owen said, looking into my eyes.

"No, you dork, I didn't hit my head." I said. "Can you please give me my phone back?"

"No, I want to talk to Madi." Owen said. "You wanna know what I got Charlie for Christmas?" He was clearly talking to Madi at that point. Why couldn't he just call her on his phone?

"He didn't get me anything, don't listen to him." I said before he could even say anything else to Madi.

"Surely he got you something, Charlie." She said.

"I did! I just haven't given it to him yet." Owen said and stood up to walk out of the room. "I was gonna give it to him on Christmas but he took me by surprise with the boat and then-"

I couldn't hear the rest of the conversation once he left the room, but I'm sure it wasn't even anything that would interest me anyways. Owen came back a couple minutes later and gave my phone back to me.

"How much longer do you think we'll be here?" I asked and he shrugged a little before pushing my hair back behind my ears. I love when he does that, or even when he just gently rubs his hand against my cheek. It's all in the little things, I guess. He knows exactly how to keep me calm and relaxed.

We may not have been together long, but we've known each other since 2018, and honestly we were pretty much together back then, it's just that neither one of us wanted to admit it, so I guess we know more about each other than we really thought.

"Might be a while. They still have to do the X-Ray and everything, so I really don't know how long we'll be here. But, I'll be right here the whole time." He said and kissed my forehead real quick.

"The whole time?"

"As long as they'll let me."
