We Can Be Heroes

Chapter 3

Karina POV

I slump down on the seat sigh in relief the we escape from headquarters. My eyes widen feel the bus go down and up, down and up. I look over at A Capella. She losing breath!

"We need to find place to land!" Noodle panicked.

Missy went up to Wheel going through his tablet. She tell A Capella telling her somewhere to land.

"What did you three talk about?" Wild Card ask.

"Well you see my-" the bus keep going up and down, we all hold on tight. A Capella stop singing than cough.

Oh boy...we're gonna crash.

The bus falling down as we hold on. I look through the front glass window see we're heading to someone garden apartment as the bus crash.

"Ah! My planta! Get out you little termites!" The lady from outside shout.

"Hi abuela." "Ah Missy! Come here and give your abuela a hug." We get out from the bus run up to the lady.

"Missy, this is Marcus mom?" Facemaker said.

"She a legend." Wheels join in.

"We need someplace to hide abuela." Missy said.

"Hiding? You need more than hiding. That there is moving position." The lady pointed the mothership.

"She right, we had two hours before the takeover." Wheels warn us.

The lady let us in her house, guess it's  enough to hide from the headquarters and aliens. Hope the heroic are okay. Hope my parents are alright once we get to the mothership.

Missy abuela pour glass of lemon gave some for us. "We're kids with superpowers but don't know we're ready to stop the aliens." Noodle said.

"But you kids who had hope in you, powers you use made you become a hero. A hero's like you and your parents who saved the world. Keeping the earth safe." The lady pointed out.

About like a few minutes of talking we walk outside following the lady behind. We stop front of open field. Sudden something appeared out from underground...... a training ground!

"Now...let's boogie."

We start training by using our powers to get us strong. We had to keep training so we can learn  to use them, save the hero's, and take down the aliens. The lady coach us keeping an eye on us. But she give Missy a turn like a leader giving us order.

But it went wrong. Missy order us to help Slow-Mo from bouncing on the ground but she pick our names randomly like she stutter to choose one of us. She look upset as she walk away.

I went up to Slow-Mo help him up than going to find Missy. I found her sitting alone on the bench.

"She not doing well?" I jump in surprise turn around see Missy abuela. I nod my head step aside letting her go up to her granddaughter to comfort her.

I listen to them hear Missy still upset that she doesn't had powers and not ready. I feel bad for her. I went up to her behind tap her shoulder, she glance at me over her shoulder. I place my hand on her head giving her a small smile.

"We know you don't had power not ready to be a leader. But there this one person of mine who is a leader who doesn't had powers."

Missy raise her brow seem confused. I continue to spoke "My friend name Nina who doesn't had powers because she was a normal girl. We met since middle school. She doesn't had power, she had skills like she can fight. When someone were in trouble or so, Nina confronted the bad people taking them down. She was like a leader who take down bad guys using their skills by using fist and legs, it's her strength from the inside of her spirit. But it's not just any spirit.....it's a spirit of justice. That what she look alike a leader when she fight without powers." I told her.

Missy smile at me get up from the bench hug me on my waist. Our moment was interrupted by Wheels "Guys! You gotta see this." We follow him behind.

He pointed up, we look up see the helicopter from the headquarters found us. "Kids, go in there." The bush move aside reveal a cave. We hurried there slide down through the cave.

We exit out from the cave. Missy whisper to Wild Card ear. What is she saying to him? I look at Ojo's tablet of her drawing, my eyes widen what I saw. Now I know what Missy is saying to Wild Card.

"Holy-" I cover Wild Card mouth "Child is here with us  you know." I said. I remove my hand from his mouth. He snatched the tablet from Missy hands.

"Okay guys, Missy and I had a plan. Look, there's a supply ship that one is near here." He show us Ojo's drawing. Than we ran off to find the supply ship.

We found the supply ship not too far. We saw a purple tentacles from behind the  long grass. Once it out of sight we hurried to the supply ship.

"Wheel do you know how-" "No! We're missing someone!" "Who?!" We look straight ahead see Slow-Mo coming us so slow. The kids shouted at him telling him to hurry before the aliens get him.

"I got him." I sprung out my wings flew toward Slow-Mo grab him flew back into the supply ship. Once we're inside Wheel shut the glass door, the tentacles surprised us as the kids scream.

I press the red button as the ship took off sending us out of space taking us to the mothership.
