Nao studied the pale cloud of air flow through the small opening in her lips. The swirling puffs of white instantly becoming one against the numbing cold. Each duel eye blinking thoughtfully as the frost patiently kissed her reddened cheeks. She adored the snow, moreso when it was falling against the quiet of night. Almost like stillness freezing time long enough for her mind to create a few spare moments of content.
Each maples colored hand rested against the metal railing, the cold stinging her delicate palms, but she payed no mind. Her attention had been busy in a far off shore participating wholeheartedly in its new favorite pastime. Creating far fetched fantasies of couch cuddling and hot chocolate sipping while Christmas movies over played their silent, serene breathing. The curtain of red draping across her shoulders, and the messy bed head of blonde itching her chest through the holes of a warm sweater.
Her fingers lightly tapped the redness in her cheeks away. God, she needed to stop reading romance books. If it weren't for him, she'd never become so enthralled in their cliché ideas.
Not even a minute had been able to pass without ridiculous wonders swimming through her mind. Could anyone really blame her though? The moment her finger made contact with the doorbell, rushes of excitement propelled through her chest without stop. Taking in a deep breath, Nao placed a hand on her heart and watched as the sun dipped into the cities onlooking buildings "Be still my heart, I don't want to look like a thirsty bitch. Alas, my will is weak. For I am an ignorant girl".
"For thee to-night there is no fear. The moon has risen white and clear, And we shall neither meet nor part. Be still, poor beating heart.", the low voice murmured with hints of embarrassment.
Nao gently pressed her hand to her throat feeling the shock take an enormous toll on her talked up state of mind. All courage now depleted as she turned to meet his ignited eyes, flickering in a passionate flame. Her red painted lips fell slightly open in awe. She tried training her embarrassed expression into a smile, but his gaze felt delicate, as if her looking away would rip away the reality of them standing face to face.
Maybe delicate had been too weak a word for his strange new state of complete and utter tenderness. A sense of courage and buoyant teasing flickered through his shifting gaze, and it caused a shiver to chase her spine. His stone demeanor slowly cracked as the corner of his lips teased into a glowing grin. His pale fingers slicked the fallen hairs back into their appropriate place, "You look very pretty...".
The soft, dusty illusions of light sat heavy on her eyelashes as she blinked each snowflake away. Noticing his gaze wandering towards the burgundy sweater dress, Nao anxiously snapped the black tights against her thigh. The echo of her heart racing in her ear drum knowing all to well his words were meant to be kind. She hadn't chosen the prettiest outfit. So used to spending time with them in normal clothes, it seemed awkward to pull out a breathtaking evening gown. The cozy Nao aesthetic, they jokingly called it.
The cracked door slowly opened and allowed brilliant lights to flood even the darkest of spaces. Kirishima peeked through the frame strands of red spilling over his shoulders from the drawn back ponytail. A hum of approval rang nearly silent in his throat as he studied Nao's shy expression, he couldn't have that, now could he, "Ya know, it really sucks being the only one without beauty and brains.".
Taking the cue, red hot flush rushed to Bakugou's cheeks as he held his hand out in a weird twisted form. Nao tilted her head slightly confused as to what he had been pointing at. He clicked his tongue against his teeth reaching down to grab her hand, "If you stay out here you'll get sick stupid.".
Nao's lips formed a surprised "O" and could have slapped her hand against her face. She couldn't but nervously push the hairs from her eyes instinctively, that was until she remembered her brilliant idea of wearing an intricate braid, "I know I'm a bit early.".
