When lunch finally rolled around Eiera's stomach was begging her to eat something. Thank goodness, her second period class was already gone, so they couldn't hear her stomach rumble. The only thing she had, had was a large coffee with three creams. She was burnt out, the coffee did nothing and it was only the second period of the second day! She was definitely not made for the teacher life.
On the first day, they talked over her. Today, her second period completely ignored her. The only students, she liked in that class were the obvious Ridgeway rejects. She felt kind of bad that the next best place was Victor Prince High School. Not that VP was a bad school or anything; it was Ridgeway's biggest competition, especially in the sports department. For the most part, the students didn't seem that bad, with the exception of the tenth graders. Even the niners weren't bad, nor the juniors and the twelfth graders, well, she thinks she can handle them.
Her phone started buzzing, there was an incoming video call from Julius.
"Hey." Eiera placed her phone vertically against the apple paperweight on the desk.
"Hey!" Her friends replied all bunched together.
It surprised Eiera, "Hey!"
She was happy to see all of them, but weren't they supposed to be in class?
"How's it going?" Amir asked her.
The question made her frown, she really wished, she was teaching with her friends. She quickly masked her frown with a smile. "Either teaching is not for me, or high schoolers suck," she laughed.
"Definitely the high schoolers that suck. Wish you were teaching with us. My third graders are so cute!" Foeby chimed.
"Of course, they are, they're angels. Maremount Elementary is a Ridgeway feeder school, remember?"
Ridgeway had two major feeder schools, Maremount Elementary which was a non-uniform school, and then there was Rosencrantz Elementary which wore uniforms. Maremount was the more popular choice because they didn't have to commit to uniforms. Eiera and most of her friends went to Rosencrantz Elementary. She's wore a uniform all her life.
"Speak for yourself, I'm teaching the seventh grade, it feels like I'm teaching a high school class. They found me on Instagram already!" Lily cried out. "They keep requesting to follow me."
"That's because you literally changed your display name not your username, no shit they found you," Amir laughed.
"I didn't want anyone to steal my original username," she pouted.
"What about the rest of you guys?" Eiera asked.
"No one's found me," Julius stated.
"Me either," Chris and Foeby said at the same time.
"Not that we have anything to worry about, we teach the third and the second grade," Chris said. "If they found me on Facebook, I'd be concerned."
Changing their names on all of their social medias was Eiera's idea. The gang did it before starting their placements. They thought, it'd be fun, if no one could find them.
