[Name] stumbled around in Noelle, Charmy and Rill's combined spare clothing, which didn't exactly fit 100%, but at least it was clean. The four went out to a place Charmy had spotted on the car ride on their first night; a comfortable book cafe that didn't seem to be too mainstream. They'd walked despite the distance so that after they could explore the rest of the town, and also to enjoy the outside world.

"Ahh, it's so nice here! I feel like I could get endless inspiration!" Rill spread his arms to motion to the entirety fo California as we walked along the sidewalk on our way to the cafe.

"Yeah, until it's summer and this place sets on fire." [Name] hadn't actually been to California, of course, but they'd heard many people complain about it.

"Such a downer! You're ruining my appetite!" Charmy growled.

"Well, then I'm glad we came in the winter." Noelle huffed.

"Are almost there~?" [Name] complained. "My legs are tired!"

"That's because you don't exercise at all!" How rude of Noelle.

"Wow. That cuts deep, you know." [Name] dramatically put their hand over their chest while Noelle scoffed.

[Name] squinted at the others who were out early like them, like the people they passed or sat in restaurants. There were some people who stood out more than others, but one stood out the most. Before they could get a good look at the person, though, they rounded a corner and [Name] couldn't see them anymore.

"What are you looking at?" Noelle asked.

"They're looking at the scenery, duh! It's so amazing!" Rill grinned.

"Everything is dead."

"Noelle, you're so blunt!" [Name] laughed, pulling themselves out of their trance. "The scenery is nice, but I thought I saw someone familiar.. I don't know anyone from California though, weird, right?!"

"We're here!" Charmy declared, standing in front of a small, homey-looking cafe with sugary pastries on display. The cafe was called Cup & Coffee.

"Wouldn't it be Cup of Coffee?" Noelle frowned.

"I think it's supposed to be like that. Like maybe there's two owners, so it's Cup and Coffee." [Name] said, trying to put the puzzle pieces together. "Well, as long as it's nice, I guess the name doesn't really matter."

The four opened the large glass door and walked inside, a small bell ringing when they walked in. There were large windows around the door with a small sign painted to say 'open'. The interior was filled with polished wood, with little booths by the wall with pale cushions and cozy tables set nearby. The people working at the counter seemed to be making friendly conversation with the other patrons.

Rill guided the group over to the counter, making chipper conversation with the workers.

"Hi, welcome to Cup & Coffee, what can I get for you?" The barista smiled.

"Hi! Can I get whatever's the most colorful?" Rill asked excitedly.

"Alright then." The barista wrote something down. "What about you, miss?"

Noelle cleared her throat.

"I'll have a quad long shot grande in a small cup, half calf, double cupped, no sleeve, salted caramel mocha latte with 2 pumps of vanilla substitute, 2 pumps of white chocolate, mocha for mocha, and substitute 2 pumps of hazelnut for toffee nut, half whole milk and half breve with no whipped cream, extra hot, extra foam, extra caramel drizzle, extra salt, add a scoop of vanilla bean powder with light ice, well stirred."
