You stared out of your large window, it was cold yet sunny today. You sighed, you hoped your outdoor plants wouldn't freeze. You rolled over and looked at your television. You were so tired that you had fallen asleep on the couch. You stood up stretching, relieving all your muscle tension. You sighed feeling energized enough to start your day.

You smiled as you opened up shop, none of your plants had frozen over. You opened up the blinds and began cleaning up shop when a familiar ding caught your attention. You wiped your dirt-covered hands-off and headed to the door, "Ah Good evening Kageyama-senpai."
The tall male gave a small smirk in response. Kageyama was a regular. He would come every Saturday and buy Carnations for his grandmother. After a year of visit, you were proud to say he was a friend.
"Please just call me Tobio," he walked over to the carnations grabbing a bundle he then headed over to the roses and grabbed a bouquet of roses. "Oh my whoos the lucky lady," you teased.
"Oh please, there for my mom dumbass." He rolled his eyes playfully as he headed to the register. "You remember her, right? She was with me the first time I came here."
"Of course how could I not!" You exclaimed, "She was so nice she even offered to buy me lunch." You closed your eyes and reminisced as Kageyama placed his flowers onto the counter. "Oh, how I miss being a newbie." You giggled as Kageyama simply rolled his eyes.
"Well, my" lovely "mother's coming into town to visit seeing as my grandfather's birthday is coming up soon." He looked away saded by the mention of his grandfather. You touched his hand slightly reassuring him it's alright.
"Don't feel bad okay? At least you know he's in a better place." You moved your hand and rung up the flowers as Kageyama stood there, flustered.
"You can't just go around holding people's hands, d-dumbass ..." he muttered. You giggled, even though he was older than you he still acted like a child.
"Well since it's a special occasion, these flowers are on the house." You placed the bag of flowers down as he stood there shocked. "B-but, that's really bad for you're-" You shushed him as you headed towards the back.
"Think of it as a discount, don't worry about it enjoy yourself this weekend." He accepted your gift and waved you goodbye before leaving the store.
You smiled softly wishing he would at least try to be happy, you remembered the day you met at the park and he had told you why he dreaded his grandfather's birthday. After his grandfather's death he quit his dream, he stopped playing volleyball even though he was a prodigy. It wasn't much help that his father was overseas and his mother just didn't know how to help. You frowned just thinking about the terrible things he had gone through.
But duty calls and you went back to feeding and watering your plants.

It had been a month since you had seen Kageyama, you were really worried, but it's not like you had his contact info so you couldn't check up on him. You sighed deciding today would be another week without seeing him, making it two months.
You stood up getting ready to lock up when you saw a dark figure in the rain heading towards the door. Surprised you opened up the door and decided to let them in. "A-are you alright sir. It's pouring out there let me get you a towel.
You ran upstairs to the sunroom and headed towards the small kitchen grabbing a towel and tea that you had made earlier. Once you had gotten back downstairs you noticed the figure had walked over to the carnations.
"Pretty right?" You handed them the towel, and when they went to take it, you were shocked. It was Kageyama. You dropped his cup of tea shattering the glass.
"Tobio ... Your alive!" You jumped up hugging the large male catching him by surprise. He hesitated to accept the hug but once he did he placed his head on your shoulder. "I was so worried you know. I thought you had died or moved to Mexico or something."
You chuckled but soon stopped when you felt his labored breathing on your neck. "T-tobio are you alright." He tightened his grasp around you making it hard for you to breathe. "I c-can't breathe Kagey-yama." He let go startled.
"Sorry," he looked away his voice was huskier than usual and you had noticed he was quite pale. His eyes were glossed over and he had heavy eyebags, he looked tired almost sick.
"It's fine please make yourself at-" He bent down and began picking up the broken glass. "I just want some carnations. I'll be leaving soon." You joined him on the ground and began to pick it up with him. The air around you two was awkward. You didn't know whether to talk to him or leave him be.
"Oww," you whined. Kageyama looked up his once blue eyes seemed black, he grabbed your bloodied hand. He gulped before abruptly standing up and leaving. You stood up and tried to chase after him but the rain was too heavy and you couldn't see a thing.
Drenched and worried you entered the shop again, closing it down for the night, while you collected your things to go home.
Just when you had found him you had lost him again.
"What a bummer," you muttered.
