You shivered as you made your way to work. The days had gone from cool to freezing, a sign that winter was near. Soon you would have to bring your plants inside and decorate the shop for Christmas. You closed your snow-covered umbrella as you entered your shop.

You sighed taking in a deep breath, the shop was warmer than usual but you didn't mind. You started your day. But as you walked past the carnations you couldn't help but stop. Only a few days ago you saw Kageyama here, he wanted carnations like always, but he seemed ... off.

You looked down to where there once was a puddle of blood. You noticed the ground wasn't stained anymore, weird . You shrugged it off along with the many other signs that someone had been there. Including the footprints, moved plants, and heat difference.

You thought you were exaggerating and that one of your employees left something and had come back to get it last night. That was until you saw the back door was open.

You froze looking around before closing the door, you heard a slight creak and went to go investigate until the sound of the bell caught your attention. You cautiously closed the other door and headed to the front.

"Welcome to Y / N's Flower Sanctuary, how may I be of service for you today." You headed towards the register when you heard a grunt, "Can I have some carnations, please."

The voice sounded familiar, you knew not all hope was lost with the sound of that voice.

"Of course, Tobio-senpai." You smiled as you headed to the carnations grabbing a bundle of 8, as he had always grabbed. Once you headed to the front you were devastated, it wasn't Kageyama instead a gentleman around his age in a suit and messy black hair.

"My apologies sir, I thought you were a friend of mine ..." You looked down disappointed when the bell rang again. "Kuroo what's taking you so long get the carnations and let's go-" The male stopped when he saw Kuroo look quite saddened.

"I'm coming Kenma, why don't you look around for some more flowers' kay?" you heard a grumble along with footsteps towards the rose section.

"So why not tell me about this friend hmm," He raised an eyebrow as you prepared the flowers. "It's not that interesting, I don't think you would want to hear about it." You turned around your back facing the man.

"Oh come on, I don't mean to be a burden to you but you've really piqued my curiosity. After all, just the mention of the guy made you all sad and sappy."

You sighed, you really hated pushy people, but it was your mistake after all. As you began trimming the flower's ends you heard another bundle being placed on the counter. You turned around and grabbed the roses as you spoke.

"His name is Kageyama, he orders carnations every Saturday for his grandmother, recently I haven't seen him, at all. Except once, he looked sick and deathly pale. He also ran away from me a few days ago." With each word you said, you clipped the thorns of the roses, making a click sound.

Once you turned around to face the two males the looks on their faces were quite ... interesting. "We know Kageyama, he was an interesting kid in highschool. A real prodigy too bad he quit."

He chewed his gum obnoxiously, "Well pretty lady," he smiled. "Thank you for these lovely flowers, oh, also keep the change." He handed you a 100 dollar bill, 3x more than what was needed.

"When you see him again, tell him Nekoma said hi. 'Kay." He headed out the door along with his friend and the two entered a fancy looking car before driving off.

'Tobio has some weird friends' you chuckled , 'Well at least he has friends', you thought.

You had opened up your eyes to see it was pitch black outside and you had a blanket on. You didn't remember falling asleep nor do you remember grabbing a blanket. As you stood up you felt a slight ache on your neck. But something compelled you not to touch it.

As you looked around you noticed a note.

Sorry for the intrusion. You looked tired, here's some milk.

-Kageyama

There was a poorly drawn smiley face by his name making you smile a bit. "What a dork," you mumbled.

You grabbed the small carton of milk it was your favorite flavor. It was ice cold, meaning he was here recently.

You wanted to go look for him but you knew it would be of no use seeing as it was snowing heavily outside. All you wished for is that he would be wearing a coat.

You woke up to a thick blanket of snow outside your apartment, seeing as it was your day off you decided to go to a nearby park. You put on your fluffy coat and boots along with a midi skirt, a black turtle neck, and thick leggings. As you exited your apartment you grabbed a breakfast bar.

You walked down the street excitedly, skipping almost. Winter was here, you could finally use your fireplace and drink hot cocoa with family and ... friends. You stopped skipping as you reached a park bench, you wiped the snow off the bench and sat there. You sat there for what felt like hours watching the snowfall, and couples walk past. You felt alone until you felt someone sat next to you.

"You know you should really, wear a scarf." You felt a warm piece of fabric wrap around you. You opened your eyes to see none other than Kageyama, still pale but looking better. You smiled, but it couldn't be seen under the scarf. "If I did then I wouldn 't have you to give me one." You stood up giving him a small hug.

"You know you're like my only friend, you can't just go disappearing on me." You giggled.

"Yeah, I know."
