Nia's POV:
Zaid looked at Alia as if someone stole his 7-year-old ugly favourite watch he was playing with a few seconds ago.
Alia just said she can't trust Zaid, and I completely understand that. It's not her fault if this bothered him. But honestly, I personally think that Zaid won't harm Alia. He could fight me because of our personal relationship, but he has nothing to do with her. He's her former brother. He used to protect her like anything, he used to be so concerned about her. we were a family. But again, everyone has changed; and no one could trust him.
"Alia" Zaid keeps his watch on the table. We're at the food stall. "Listen. You might execrate me as a dangerous and uncaring terrorist but I can't do a harm to innocent beings. I just harm my enemies. And you're NOT one of them. Also, if something happens to you, both of these brats are going to kill me right away."
I chuckle.
" I know I'm not a brother to you anymore, but it's my responsibility to take care of you right now and I'll do that undoubtedly. So stop worrying" He gave her a weak smile.
Alia looks at me and then Tariq. She smiles back and nods.

It's been almost 2 hours since we're sitting here and it's the right time to go ahead with the deal. Also, the food here was okay-ish, but it's a known fact that when you're hungry, everything you eat tastes amazing.
Zaid stares at his watch and gestures us to leave.
"Best of luck, I'll wait for you okay?" Alia hugs me. I nod and hug her back.
"Bro, be quick but safe" Zaid keeps his palm on Tariq's shoulder and he hugs him.
BROMANCEEEE
So I and Tariq finally leave.

Zaid's POV:
*After 20 mins*
"How Long is it gonna take? " says Alia while tapping her fingertips on the table.
"How would I know?" I lift my shoulders. She shuts up and rests her forehead on the table. I keep spectating the environment, who knows I spot my biggest rival?
No not Nia, Ali.
I hate Ali. I just don't wanna do whatever I'm doing right now. That guy literally wants me to kill people like crushing a pile of ants.DUDEE that's not even possible, like seriously? I have beaten up a lot of people but when it comes to killing someone, my hands shiver. I just want to kill myself before doing that, unless and until it's someone inhumane like Ali. I want to be at my home or my office having business conferences or playing football with Tariq.
And by the way, how much I love Business and Finance? do not ever question that. But again, destiny. It wanted me here doing this dumbass sh*t.
"Zaid?" Alia looks at me.
"Do you still read love stories?" She asks empty-headedly.
"What?" I chuckle. "No I don't, silly" I look down at my watch, stealing eyes.
Love stories? I read them. I had a weird collection like horror and mystery, but a romance novel? the collection never gelled with my personality. But I still read them because.. they just gave me good vibes. Love is magical, but I don't deserve this magic right now. It was a huge secret, no one knew about it except Alia, not even Tariq. And not even Nia. Alia came to know about this little secret when all four of us were home for a group study, and she childishly opened my little drawer (WITHOUT EVEN ASKING) looking for a pen when Tariq and Nia were out. She was a bit surprised to see them in my drawer, but then she started laughing out of nowhere and kaboom. I had to beg her along with blackmailing her about revealing her secret if she tells mine to someone. Her secret, That she has a crush on Tariq, of course.
"Why did you stop reading them?" She asks, laying back on the chair.
"I stopped reading them after I fell in love with Nia"
"Why?"
"Because I was in love, idiot. I couldn't find meanings in other love stories" I chuckle. After I fell for Nia, I was too obsessed with her and my own story to take out time for other ones. I fell in love just once in my livelihood. And the episode couldn't be expressed in words. If I wasn't here, I would probably be living a happy life with Nia right now. But destiny is shit.
"And do you hate her at present?" I think she's pretty curious, duh
"Sort of"
"Why?"
"Because she's being a b*tch to me"
"Don't get offended but I think that you are responsible for the same"
"I know. I don't hate her for what she's doing, it's her duty. I hate her because she's throwing personal tantrums at me"
"She's an angry women" She chuckles. "Why did you do this?"
"do what?"
"Become such a terrori-"
"Too much talking for today" I say, shutting down the conversation. We don't need to talk so much. She's on the other side.
she puts her head down in dismay.
