Nia's POV:
Are we playing statue and over?
Because Zaid stood there still, probably thinking how this nerd got herself into this. I could see the peculiar look in his eyes.
And this strange tension in the air was broken when we saw Tariq standing right behind us. And to my amazement, Alia was too in the same room, lying at one little corner, totally unconscious of everything.
"What is she doing here?"
asked Tariq to Zaid.
"Did you try to kill her?" said Tariq once again, without waiting for Zaid's answer.
"Not yet" answered Zaid, turning his face towards the little window, when Tariq came up to me for a little 'chit-chat'
"Nia....what are you doing here-?"
"What did you guys do to Alia, Tariq?"
I spoke, cutting him off.
"We won't even touch her. She just fainted. But listen Madamoiselle Bravery, who are you exactly?"
"Do you think I'll answer that question?"
"Oh yeah. So you are from the intelligence, great"
He said, turning to Alia.
"It's really hard to believe it's YOU, my old little nerd. We usually get rid of people from the intelligence as soon as they get here.But-" He stopped, keeping his palm on Alia's sweaty red cheeks.
"But?"
I asked with complete curiosity.
"Is the from Intelligence too?"
He asked, without answering my question.
"No.Answer My question now."
"You probably leave it on Zaid" He picked up Alia in his arms and left the room, smirking on his own reply.
I wanted to kick him right where the birds don't fly and ask him where was he taking Alia, but it was too late now.
"You know what? it's better to be killed rather than being trapped here in your stupid 'launchpad'. "I spit it out as soon as I remembered I'm still not left alone in this ugly dark room.
"So you're not afraid of insects anymore?" He asked in an ironic tone.
"I'm still afraid of Insects. But probably not of assholes like you Zaid, neither death"
I replied in a pretty honest and confident tone.
"It's so impressive of you Nia. I would have really asked you to give me some serious bravery tips if I was not gonna lock you up here"
"And what does that mean?"
It's pretty confusing. Why would he lock me up for no reason? Can't he just kill me and simply let Alia go?
He bent down on his knees to face me.
"You're innocent, my lady. We'll use you to confuse your own department about our location."He said, throwing that unacceptable gorgeous smile along with a wink. Why is he like that?
"Once the job is done, I'll get rid of you"
Ah shit. This was not supposed to hurt me. But it did.
"You are really smart, Zaid. But I promise I won't let you make it" I shot back, with a fake smile plastered on my face.
Zaid's POV
On a serious note, I want to hug her and ask for pardon. But as of now, she's my biggest enemy present on this planet, except Ali, of course.
I don't know anything about the future, absolutely nothing. But this women will always remind me How good she is at taking challenges. How good she is at fighting her own weaknesses and moving forward, leaving the past.
3 years back, I really used to imagine spending my life with this person. It would be hella fun.
Look at her now. Brave, She's still the prettiest women on earth, just a bit more attractive. Those ruby cheeks might not be there anymore, but those eyes suddenly have a spark in them one could die for. She looks taller, probably because of that figure. A bliss of heaven.
Shit, am I checking her out?
I shake my head to get all those beautiful thoughts out of my brain.
"Lost in your ex-girlfriends' glory, my dear bomber"
she said with a sarcastic sneer.
How bad I want to say yes.
"you can't call me a bomber, exactly"
"then? Assassin?"
"That's still preferable"
I said, winking.
