Cold shards continuously enveloping each other,
Star shine silver and ice cold blue,
Rock hard glaciers that could never weather,
I saw in your eyes all while looking at you.The sight of snow strait from the morning,
Instantly clouded my every thought,
Ice and snow and starlight falling,
With none of the hardships these things brought.Watching, observing, recording it all,
The eyes held excitable boundless wonder,
Laughing and crying and feeling so small,
But the cracking anger broke faster than thunder. Now those eyes know only sadness,
Memories, loss, and nothing more.
Memories of a time of constant gladness,
Where nothing was ever known as a bore.Soft as the feathers from an angels wing,
My eyes were much different by far,
Browns and oranges and yellows that sing,
Of countless sunsets bound in a jar.Hopeful and forgiving of anything they saw,
To find good in people they would always try,
Smiling and laughing and staring in awe,
Knowing the saddest thing would be the good-bye.Just a hint of mischief with a trick up its sleeve,
Partners with the lips that whispered lies in your ear,
Wishing and hoping that you would believe,
The things it so desperately wanted you to hear. And so I enjoyed the sun in my arms and moon at my side,
I was in deeper then I before would've let,
And though the time was great being pulled in with the tide,
Every icicle must melt, and every sun must set.
