Yes, Ivy Callix is dead. At least that's what you think. Like any other good story, life goes on. And so did the life of Ivy Callix.
The cold cement pressed against Ivy's skin, and a soft growl of pain escaped her lips as she contorted her body back. Her vision, at first blurry, cleared as she awoke fully. Although she was awake and felt awake as well, her memories seemed to be slumbering somewhere deep in her brain. The only knowledge she had was of her last moments in the cellar, but no human face came into view when she wracked her brain for memories. Surveying her surroundings, she came to the brutal conclusion that she was doomed.
Looking for help was useless, even before she forgot her she was, that she knew. Waiting to die here was the easy way out of this living nightmare.
Just then, a particle- barely a morsel of light floated around her. A voice whispered in her ear: "Falsifier, falsifier". It frightened her deep down in her core, but she knew that it was her only hope. Maybe it was the light at the end of a tunnel. Either way, Ivy decided to follow the dainty light.
Buzz...buzz...buzz. The light hummed its rhythm as the sound echoed through the lonely walls. Suddenly, two blinding lights powered to life. Then three. Four. Immediately, thousands of lights flooded into the hall, buzzing with life, energy, and...something that didn't feel right. It was like someone had set off a firework with a single snap of their finger. Either way, Ivy was lifted off of her feet and taken up, up, and away.
"Where am I going?!" she asked.
"To the master" The strange voice seemed to hiss, as the voice was buzzing from the lights.
Ivy was slowly set down on a big white bed, or more of a board you could call it. It was the only bright thing in the dark blue room that seemed to swallow you. SNAP! A cold metal band snapped around her wrists and ankles. Trapping her.
"Who's the master!" She asked. Anything to calm her racing mind. This time, she did not get a response. Instead, her guts filled with caution. At that same moment, the lights filled the air with flickering red lights. Ivy was frozen inside. A needle came out of all four of the restraints.
"NO!" She screamed, knowing that what was coming could not be prevented. But, as she was about to scream again the bands were gone.
Still confused, yet looking for what this might be. She sat up as the glowing red lights flickered on and off repeatedly.
She got off the white bed she had been laying on. Ivy sprinted out of the room, pressing her ears hard against her head. She walked out of the room, it was completely dark. Ivy stood there for a few seconds trying to regain her senses. As she slowly released her hands, she heard a low sloshing noise to her left, sounding as if it were coming closer to her. Out of instinct, she tried to run away. But when she turned the corner, the same sloshing noise was following her no matter how fast she ran from it.
What is making that noise?! It is driving me insane!
She eventually ran far away, seeing a bright white glow in the distance. As her eyes adjusted to the blinding lights, she saw a hideous, disgusting blob. The blob looked somewhat like a person, but with all its features melted together and twisted. The blob ended looking like a pool of a human that had been melted. It was making its way across the floor, tracking goo all over the place as the blob slithered towards her. She wanted to throw up at the sight of it.
It came closer and closer to her as it barred its razor-sharp teeth at her. Ivy was extremely terrified. She had no reactions to the blob, her face was just...blank.
Should I fight it, or run? Ivy was running out of her precious time, time that she could've used to run away from this mess.
Her breathing quickened as the thing neared her feet,
as only a few inches from her feet, as a dashing young man came bursting into the room. He ran to her, scrambled to pick her up, and dashed out of the room. She looked at him with a sort of familiarity, and he looked right back.
"Derek," he said in a sort of emotionless voice with only a hint of anger.
"I-Ivy," she stuttered, shocked, and surprised at what had just happened.
"Maybe you should try to stay away from those things," Derek blatantly said.
"Well, it is not my fault that I woke up in this place to a voice whispering in my ear and aggravating, flashing red lights blinding me! Then, as I was trying to run away from it, eating me whole. Now you're telling me that this is all my fault when I almost got eaten by a monster?!" Ivy exclaimed.
"All I am saying is to try to stay away from them in the future. I know you are in shock right now, but you need to tell me this one piece of vital information. Do you remember anything?"
"No, but do you know how I can get my memories back because I feel like I should know something, something that is important. But I can't-I-I have no idea!?"
"I'm not sure. I just got here. I know just as much as anyone else in this room."
"It will be okay," Derek's voice was quiet, and to be honest, it looked like he was reassuring himself more than her.
Ivy looked down and sighed through her nose in relief, then looking back up and Derek, she gave him a grateful smile. "Thanks. You look a little familiar though. It is like a faint memory that I can't quite grasp."
"I don't think I have seen you before. We should probably get going."
Ivy looked to her right and nodded, her head throbbed and her heart was pounding - not exactly ideal conditions for traveling.
"Let's get back to the others. Follow me," Derek said.
"Others?" Ivy asked.
"Yes of course!" Derek laughed matter-of-factly before making his way toward the door. Too tired to respond, Ivy simply said nothing and followed
They went off through the dark corridors of the building, footsteps pounding on the metal floor as they ran.
Yay, we're done! Was this chapter kind of confusing? If so, the next one will be easier to understand. See ya'll soon!
