"Come on sweetheart i dont want you to be late for your first day in college."My dad screamed, catching my attention. My dad was just like me, always wanted to be early. "Im going dad i just have to change"I yelled back. I looked over at the outfit i had picked out. It was nothing special, just a blue cardigan with a white tank top and my favorite pair of jeans. I didn't want to look like i tried too hard. "Dad should i go with the pearls or diamond earing." i laughed. Walmart brand earing aren't as bad as you think they are. " Diamonds now hurry Gabs" He said patiently. I giggled and put my whole outfit on. My long wet brown hair was getting in the way so i put it up in a pony tail. I sat on my bed and placed my two year old black converse on. I walked around in them for half on my high school year, now they would walk around on different, and better street. I grabbed my suitcase and my jacket. I loved this house, but i also loved knowing i was closing this chapter of my life and moving on to bigger and better things, such as WSU. I had worked hard for this and i finally got in. I had graduated a year early and won a scholarship, i couldn't mess this up. "Gabriella"My dad screamed. I said my goodbyes and made my way out. i ran downstairs and looked for my dad who was in his car. I had a long flight ahead of me, but it was worth it. My dads red truck usually took a while to turn on but today it turned on right away. "You got goodluck today kiddo"My dad teased. I smiled and climbed into the car i would dearly miss. My dad took off and we were now on our way to JFK airport. "You got everything right" he asked breaking the silence. I nodded " Checked everything off my checklist"I said looking out of the window. This would be the first time i would go on a plane, i was excited yet nervous. The school had payed for my flight which made my father proud. "You know gabs this school has to be one of the best I'm very proud of you, of how much you've grown up, and moved on your strong just like your old man." I had been dreaded this moment for years. Saying goodbye to my father. Leaving him in New York and moving on with my life. "Dad" i said, my voice cracking "Thanks for the pet talk" I looked over at him and watched his smile grow. "You have to promise to call me when you can, don't forget about me nor Henry baby" He said smile fading slowly. I nodded once again. I could never forget about my dad or Uncle Henry they had raised me to this day. "Dad don't even say that" I said trying to sound as strong as possible "Good" we entered the jfk parking lot, the butterflies in my stomach seemed to get stronger and faster. "This is it"he said parking. I smiled "Not just yet dad you get to drop me off at the gate, im new at this remember" i laughed. My fathers laugh made me smile harder. "Alright race you there?"he said jumping out of the car and running."No way your beating me old man" I laughed as the wind blew in my hair. My suitcase wheel began to shake. I laughed even harder looking at the looks my dad received. "Hey you" someone screamed from behind me. I turned to look if they were talking to me. I should have stopped running, but i wanted to beat my dad. I suddnly ran into someone and fell on top of them. I looked down at the person i had trampled. He was a goodlooking curly haired young boy. Maybe only a couple years older then me. His green eyes looked into me. I smiled "Im sorry i was distracted" I said getting off his hard body. He got up and wiped himself off " you should pay attention"he said. I noticed his thick British accent. i nodded agreeing with him "Your right umm are you alright." i said as i watched him watch me. "Yeah" he said looking straight into my eyes. I wasn't good with these kind of things. I had never talked to a boy other then Henry and my dad, and maybe some boys in my book club. I looked the boy up and down. He wore a well fitted black suit, that made his olive eyes pop. "I should go i have a flight to catch im sorry about that again." i said turning around and walking over to my dad. He had seen the whole thing "You lost" he announced i rolled my eyes "I let you win" I teased. We laughed and made our way to the gate."Welcome to Delta airlines flight 22 to Washington state, please check your boarding pass, and verify that your bags has been checked." The lady in the loud speaker said. I looked over at my dad. I didn't want to say goodbye to my dad. I wanted him to come with me. To live in Washington with me, but it wasn't possible, he had a house here, a job, but he didnt have me. Not anymore at least. "I guess this is the part when i warn you about college, no boys, no alcohol, no drugs, no boys, no running away, no crying, no boys, no drama, no boys, have fun baby but not too much remember your only turning 17" he warned me. "Got it" i said. He nodded and hugged me. I hugged him back tightly knowing i wouldnt see him for a while"If you need anything please call me okay im here, be safe girly" he whispered into my ear. I nodded a tear slipping down my face, "I promise ill be good dad" Is said already missing him. "Its time for you to go baby i love you and ill miss you" he said sounding upset. I took a deep breathe in and wiped away my tear. I let go of my dad and smiled" I love you too dad" were the last words i said to my father before i boarded the plane.
