The wrest of the day was quite between me and my dad. He was giving me space and I was trying to get past the fact that he got fired....again. All because of his anger issues.

Work went by slow, as the hours seemed to drag on forever. Miguel stopped by at some point, grabbed what he came for and started talking to me for a bit. It wasn't to long of a conversation, a simple 'hi' and 'hello' and asking about each other's days. Miguel even managed to ask a couple of simple questions to get to know me, hell, he even made me laugh.

After about a half an hour of talking, my boss eventually told Miguel something in Spanish, causing him to laugh awkwardly and say his goodbyes to me.

Once 9 came around, my dad was there to pick me up. I ended up getting something quick from the freezer to heat up when I get home, telling my boss to just take it out of my paycheck.

My dad didn't really want to have another war with my boss so he stuck with beeping the horn and sending me a quick text to let me know he is there. Once I got in the passenger side of the car, it was quiet but my dad didn't move, as if he was lost in thought.

I sent him a confused look before deciding to speak up for the first time since this morning "Dad?" His head shot over to me, widening his eyes in surprise. "You okay?" I asked, as he took a minute to process the fact that I just asked him a question.

He nodded his head a bit before clearing his throat and starting the car up "Yeah, I'm alright." He put the car in reverse and was quick to back out, as I stared out of my window.

It went quiet again for a second or two before my dad asked "You're not-.... You're not still mad at me, are you?" I let out a sigh as I looked over at him, only to see him staring at the road in front of him. "No, I wasn't..." I paused trying to find my words, as my dad glanced over at me, only to look right back at the road in front of him.

"I'm not mad. I'm just..."

I paused again before shaking my head and looking back out my window "I'm just disappointed, is all." Dad didn't respond after that. The rest of the ride back to the apartment felt longer than usual, a thick silence hanging over the two of us.

Once we made it back, I was quick to walk into our apartment and go heat up my food. I stood there waiting for the microwave to beep, as the sound of the TV being turned on could be heard. Looking over my shoulder, I watched my dad fall back on the couch, as he let out an exasperated sigh.

'Maybe I was a bit harsh in him this morning.... he already has so much going on. I shouldn't be adding to his stress...'

I turned my head back in front of me, as I leaned over the counter, staring down at my hands which sat on the counter in front of me. I continued to think 'Maybe I could-' a loud beeping noise could be heard, pulling me out of my thoughts as I looked over to the microwave.

Taking my food out, I decided to just eat in my room, letting my dad have the TV to himself. I was quick to walk over to my room, opening the door and shutting it behind me.

About thirty minutes later I sat on my bed my empty plate on my night stand, having been finished with it for awhile now. I sat there texting Eli for a bit.
