"The queen did not approve of this love they shared, but she eventually did give them her blessing. All she ever wanted in life was for her son to be truly happy.
As the weeks went by the prince soon learned that the servant was very sad, and she could not control her thoughts at all times. They never told anyone, because if people found out they would think she was crazy. It was enough that she's a servant, people would have a hard time accepting that, they would never accept their love if they found out about her sadness.
"I want to let the people meet their future queen," the prince said as he intertwined his fingers with the servant's. "There's really nothing to worry about, they'll love you."
And so they did. They told the people the following day.
It was hard to accept indeed, but some of them did while others refused to.The prince loved the servant deeply, and he wanted nothing but to make her happy. Which he believed she was for a good year. They stayed together through thick and thin, nothing could tear them apart. He believed the servant was as happy as he was, which maybe she was at one point, but her hauting thoughts took over.
The servant never told anyone about her returning, overpowerinh sadness. Not even the prince. But it was there, and it was stronger than ever before. It was two weeks after the one year anniversary of them announcing their love to the people that she left everything and everyone behind to go to heaven.
The servant was truly an angel that had fallen from heaven, and life on earth was hurting her too much, so she went back home." Harry closed the book and smiled at the two kids sitting in front of him. Natalia was crying and Joey was still frowning like he had been through the whole story.
"That story was stupid," he spat again and rolled his eyes.
"We all think differently, don't we?" Harry replied with a small smile, but he had a hard time holding back the tears. "Now if you excuse me I need some air, go play with uncle Niall, alright?" He hurried and walked away. He didn't want them to see him crying, especially not over a story they knew nothing about.
He didn't know for how long he had been standing on the balcony when a voice cut through the silence and startled him.
"Who was that story really about?" 15 year old Alice Malik asked as she stepped out on the balcony with Harry. "I've read "Cinderella" a million times and I'm positive that's not how it goes."
Harry smiled sadly at Alice and shrugged before turning his back to her once again. "It was about a girl named Jolene."
"And a boy named Harry?" Alice asked with raised eyebrows even though Harry couldn't see her.
He shrugged again and sighed as he wiped away the tears that had escaped.
"Once in a lifetime she was mine."
