"The secret partner is a woman, Interesting" Serkan thought. All the theories and all the doubts he had, he always felt he was dealing with some mysterious powerful man. Though he was never sure what the mystery was . Never once did it occur to him that it could be a lady. He chuckled to himself. Yes, it's strange that he didn't think it could be a woman. He looked around at his team. There were ecstatic and overjoyed on winning the tender of the new project. "What a time for the new partner to enter." He mused. He checked on Eda,she was smiling and she shared a glance with him. He was ready.
An elderly woman walked up to them. Her steps were direct and engulfing. She moved like she owned the place. She glanced around a bit but her gaze landed and settled on Eda. She was looking only at her. Like she had some prior relationship with her. Serkan tried to catch her eye to exchange a greeting. But she seemed like she was not really interested in anybody or anything except Eda at that moment. Serkan tried to discern what was going on. Why his new partner was looking only at Eda. He glanced around to reassure himself that he was not imagining things. Everybody were as bewildered as him. No one seemed to understand a thing.
He glanced at Eda, trying to see what she was thinking. But when he looked at Eda,he found her rooted to the place. Her face was in shock. It was literally like she stopped breathing. He turned to the woman again, and saw her smirking on seeing Eda's stunned face.
"What the hell," he thought. He was ready to go near Eda and One look at her he could tell that she was about to faint. In the next second like he suspected, Eda fainted. He moved to her in two quick steps and caught her before she fell to the ground.
"I see my granddaughter is surprised to see me.." the woman said at the same time not really concerned by her fainting.
Serkan didn't quite comprehend or cared what the lady was saying. He excused himself and carried Eda to his office and made her sit in a chair. Everyone rushed into his office after him, worried about Eda. Ceren and Melo moved to the other side of Eda and they too look shocked and worried. When he glanced at them, it appeared like they wanted to say something to him. Engin asked everybody to calm down and asked Serkan whether Eda was ok. He indicated that she was ok, with a nod. But this fainting spell of hers always made him uneasy. He feels helpless not knowing what to do when this happens.
The elderly lady moved into the conference room after them. Everybody waited in anticipation watching her every move. She looked around. And when she started speaking, she has everyone's attention.
"Iam Semiha Yildrin." She started.
At the mention of the surname Yildrin, something stirred in Serkan's brain. Something Eda said in the passing.He looked at the lady assessing.
"I own the Yildrin jewellery empire. And now I own almost half of the Holding." Semiha said. "45percent " Serkan corrected absentmindedly.
"Oh, right 45percent," Semiha agreed. "Iam the Holding's new partner. And that girl who fainted, as is her habit of dealing with stress is my only granddaughter." She announced pointing her hand towards Eda.
The room fell silent after the revelation. Everyone were trying to understand what she said. Not even Erdem moved. Ferit, Engin and Peril were stunned. If Eda was the granddaughter of this lady who owns a business empire, why was she having problems with her college.They wondered. Did she reveal this in passing that they missed hearing or what. Or are they estranged. And now she was the new partner. They couldn't come to any conclusion.
Leila and Erdem were looking around at everybody not really knowing what to do with this information. One look at Melo confirmed that what was said was the truth. They waited on Serkan to lead them.
So many thoughts were running on Serkan's mind.
"What, I mean How? Why didn't I know anything about it before." He wondered.
Did Eda mention her grandmother being this rich, he racked his brain.
"Does Eda know her grandmother is the secret partner. She went to her house with flowers, Didn't she observe anything? "
"But wait, didn't Eda hate her grandmother because she didn't approve of her father's decision."
"And in a way Holding is responsible for her only son's death, so is the grandmother here for revenge. " He was so deep in thought, that he didn't realize Eda was coming around until Melo pointed it out loud. " Ha finally," He thought relieved.
