"How long do we have to walk?" Linus asked lucy as they trekked through the strange landscape that was the NerveStone continent of this odd world. "Just a few more miles and we get out of this jungle...just keep mo-oh shit" lucy cuts herself off as she sees it...the huge pit of loose wet sand like in the movies. "Quicksand! How are we ever gonna get across? The forests are packed with monsters and we can't flap our wings and fly?!" Linus said as he was usually the cowardly type. "There! A vine!" Lucy said as she grabbed onto it and like an acrobatic she jumped over the whole 20 meter wide pond of quicksand leaving linus on the other side. "I-i can do it! I know I can!" Linus said grabbing the vine but it snapped and linus fell feet first into the sinking sand. "H-help it's so cold" linus begged as he slowly tried wading through but stopped to a halt as his face recoiled in absolute horror and he began thrashing about as an unseen source performed a sickening gulp sound which at the same time pulled linus deeper under the quicksand. "Hold on I'm coming!" Lucy said gathering as much vine as possible and she threw it like a safety raft to try and pull him out but by the time she threw it he was chin deep inside the quicksand. "I-its got me-*CHOMP!*" those cryptic last words were cut off by a set of scaly jaws which appeared razor sharp that slipped from the spread of the quicksand in a second before retreating with linus's face which caused lucy to gasp and put her hand over her face as it was followed by another sickening gulp. "L-linus! Linus w-where are you?!" Lucy began to cry out as she began sweating tears of regret. "I-I hope you rest...in peace" she said getting up and continuing to walk because she knew nobody would be able to know.
(Meanwhile under the sand)
"Oh, *BOOOORRRRRPPPP!* that was a good meal" the mysterious girl said as she crawled into her cave underneath the quicksand. The girl was a reptilian girl with the anthropomorphic appearance of a garchomp turned humanoid, she was also a big girl at around 7 feet tall and she had just ensnared her latest prey in her sand trap. "MmmmmmmMmMMMMMmmmmMMMPPHHHH!" Linus screamed and beat against her thick wet stomach as the walls tightly kept him curled inside with no means of escape. "Ooh URP! This ones spicy" the kicks only gave the thanatorian the feeling of spice flavor as he was losing consciousness as his fist soon melded with the wall due to his bones having cracked and fried. "Can't wait for next meal" the landshark lady said as she laid down in a pile of sand which was compressed and burned to make a smooth glass palette on the floor for digesting a meal. In the end lucy still wanders the land looking for the remains of mark and will forever be haunted by the last seen appearance of her friend being gulped by a sneaky predator.
