When they returned from the war, Nico usually sat alone in his cabin, locking himself away from the rest of the demigods. All of them tried to get him out, but to no effect. One day, Hazel, who had been trying for a hour, punched the door with her fist out of frustration and slid down to the floor outside. Nico opened the door to find his sister sobbing, and had to use all of his willpower to close the door instead of comforting her, afraid that if he touched her, he would curse her for life. After a while, Hazel got up and left, but little did she know that Nico had been in the exact same position as her on the other side of the door, tears flowing down his face. Every drop mirroring hers.
