Guardian Angel- Dekubowl (Angel/Dead Deku AU)

Part 1- Becoming an angel.

(Warning: Includes death and suicide)

"Just pray for a quirk in your next life, and take a swan dive off the roof of the building!!"

Izuku stood on the school rooftop, looking down at the street below. Bakugo's words spiralled through his head, taunting him. He pulled off his red trainers, leaving an envelope inside of one of them.

He sighed, climbing over the fence and standing at the very edge of the roof. Izuku looked up at the sky, and smiled as tears ran down his face. "I love you Mum. I'm sorry" he whispered, before letting himself fall.

There was no pain. He felt the impact, and watched the world fade to black. Light. That's what he saw. Beautiful, bright, welcoming light. He reached out for it, and flinched as the white glow engulfed his body. A strange gender-less voice rang through his head. "Rise again, Izuku Midoriya. There is work for you to do"

And with that, he saw the sky again. He groaned, feeling the warmth of the sun. Izuku looked down, seeing no injuries. And where his school uniform once dressed him, he now wore a white toga-like garment, brown belt, and gold bracelets around his ankles and wrists.

Getting up, confused and weirded out, he turned around, screaming at what he saw. There laid his own dead body, laying on the street, surrounded by students and strangers. Izuku tried touching a man next to him, but his hand passed straight through him.

Izuku looked down, and saw an ancient-looking scroll. He picked it up, and opened it, only seeing one sentence written on the parchment;

'Welcome to your new life, Guardian Angel of UA Hero Academy'

He gulped. Guardian Angel?! So he was dead after all.....But why was he given this job? Surely someone who ACTUALLY went to UA or at LEAST a pro hero would have been better-

Catching himself as he began to mutter, he noticed Bakugo staring at his dead body. Izuku walked over, shocked when he saw that Katsuki was crying. The blonde rushed off, grabbing his phone and frantically dialling it. Izuku tried to follow, to see what happened, but couldn't.

A strange green glow stopped him, acting like a barrier keeping him from his former childhood friend. Izuku looked up at the sky, and sighed bitterly. "I guess you want me to go to UA, huh...?" He stated, before walking in the direction of the school.

Izuku looked up at the huge school campus, groaning. "How am I supposed to get in..?" He grumbled, before noticing the weight on his shoulders. Turning around, he gasped at two large feathery white wings. He facepalmed, wondering how he failed to notice them. Flapping them nervously, he tested their ability, and was shocked when he soared into the air effortlessly.

Smiling with a new-found confidence, Izuku flew into the school grounds, and explored the vast area, knowing he'd have to familiarise himself very quickly.
He gasped at the grandness of all the buildings,  in awe of how futuristic and new everything looked. Maybe he would have lots of fun doing this!

-A few years later-

Izuku rested carefully on the windowsill of Class 1-A's room, watching the new students file in. He smiled at all of them, but gasped when he watched Katsuki Bakugo walk into the classroom. He sighed, looking at his ex-childhood friend. "At least you can be a hero, Kacchan...." He whispered sorrowfully.
