The next day Fitz hails me and tells me to meet him by the fountain in Atlantis. Already not off to a great start. But it didn't matter what he said now, because I chose Keefe. I fell asleep thinking about him, there was no way of getting him out of my head. I just needed to find a way to salvage my friendship with Fitz. I throw on a random tunic and then leap to Atlantis. After a few minutes he appears he appears beside me and walks over to me smiling. He hesitates before taking my arm and leading me to a store I never noticed before. Not a store, a library. We walk into the library and find some isolated armchairs in a corner surrounded by bookshelves. A library was certainly not where I expected him to take me but whatever I guess.
"So... how did it go with Linh?" I ask him casually.
"She's really nice, and a great friend. I'm glad we met her, and Tam though I still think he's kinda shady." He replies, grinning. I laugh and he leans a little closer to me. I notice how close our armchairs are and the way his intense teal eyes are gazing into mine. Was he planning on kissing me already? Is that why he brought me into this part of the library? To make out with me?
Then he leans all the way in, but at the last second I turn my head to the side so the only gets the corner of my mouth, but mostly my cheek. No way was he going to kiss me, for two reasons. One I'm with Keefe, two this literally isn't a date. We barely started talking. He pulls away looking hurt.
"I'm sorry Fitz but," I hesitate slightly, "I like Keefe." Fitz looks upset then angry, like he might go and punch Keefe. It scares me but then he relaxes. He opens his mouth but then closes it, sighing. He nods looking defeated.
"I'll except that decision, its just, I liked you since the day we met. It's going to be difficult moving on but...maybe I'll get to know Linh a bit more."
"Thank you Fitz, and Linh is really wonderful." I was glad that his anger didn't get the better of him. he smiles and leaps away. I walk away and towards the matchmakers office. Perfect time to figure things out, without Sandor interrupting or demanding answers. I'm crossing through a dark alley, a shortcut, when someone grabs we from behind. I feel a sickeningly sweet scented cloth pressed against my mouth and nose. I struggle, but only succeed in loosing my scroll. Then the world goes black.
(A/N, Hi guys, so I'm ending it here. I know it's pretty evil but I need a break from electronics. I promise the next chapter will be up by tomorrow afternoon. Enjoy!)
