*after school...*

Layla POV

My last class of the day finally ended, I packed my things and head out to my locker. As I walk there, someone tap my shoulder. I turn and saw Max, "hey, babe" I said as he rest his arm on my shoulder. "Hey, baby" he said. When I get to my locker, I grab my stuff and headed home. Max was following me to keep me safe.

I got my keys and opened the door, I said bye to Max and close the door. I look around, they were not in the living room "Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I said as I went to the stairs. Strange... they are not home... I went into my room, put down my bag and call my mom.

I ring her multiple times, but no answers. I call my dad. On the 3rd time, he picked up.

D: Dad (Gaege) L: Layla

D: hey, pumpkin

L: hey, dad. Where are you?

D: oh, me and your mom went to the supermarket to get some groceries. We will be back soon

L: ok, bye dad

D: bye, pumpkin

He then end the call. I went to the bathroom and took a shower, I got out and changed into this...

I lay in bed, while scrolling through Instagram. A few minutes later, I hear the front door open. I went down stairs and saw mom and dad. "Hey, mom. Hey, dad." I said as I grab some of the groceries they were carrying and put them away.

"Layla, tomorrow night can you stay at home alone? Me and your dad are going out with uncle Eddie, uncle Narrator, aunty Gabby and aunty Lynessa. If you want, I can call Max to come if you're scare to stay here alone?" Mom said, "ya, can you call Max to come here. I feel a little scared" I said, she then nod.

*the next day, at night...*

I was on my phone when I hear the door bell ring. I went downstairs to see who it was, but mom opened it already. "Sweetie, Max is here! We need to go already!" Mom said, as I walk down I replied "OK!". They then left leaving me and Max alone in the house.

I wait till the car left the driveway, "what do you want to do, babe?" I said, "Netflix and chill?" He said, I nod. While he was choosing what movie I went to the kitchen and got some snacks. "Babe, wanna watch 'Isn't It Romantic'?" Max said as I seat next to him. "Ya, sure" I said as he played the movie.

A few hours goes by and I look at the time, '11pm... Why are they not back ye-' my thoughts got cut off by the front door opening, I quickly seat up straight as well as Max. "Honey, we're back!" Mom said as I turn and smile at her. "Hey, mom. Hey dad." I said, "hey, aunty y/n and uncle Gaege" Max said. "Hey, Max. Your parents are waiting for you" mom said.

"OK, bye Layla. Bye, aunty y/n and uncle Gaege" Max said then left. "So what were you two doing while me and you dad went out?" Mom asked. "oh, we just watch a movie " I said. "A romantic... Movie?" Dad said, 'shit...' "Hmm... Ya" I said. "You know, me and your dad already know" mom said.

"Know what?" I said obviously acting dumb. 'Shit... Did they know I'm in a relationship with Max...' I thought. "That you two are together" dad said I went red. I look away. "Sweetie, you didn't have to hide it from us" mom said, "I... I thought you and dad wouldn't approve..." I said.

"We approved, After all it's our friend's son" mom said. "So... You approved?" I said. They both nod. "Wait... Then does uncle Eddie and aunty Gabby know?" I asked. "We decision it. Cause when Max came or you see him your face just lit up." Mom said.

"Uncle Eddie and aunty Gabby saw the same when Max came or see you." Dad said. 'Thank goodness...' I thought.

Max POV

We were driving back home, when mom said "Max, are you hiding something?". 'What does she mean... Wait... She found out about my relationship' I thought. "No, mama" I said. "Are you sure?" Dad said as he lock eyes with me, "N-no" I said.

"You know, we approve right" mom said, "approved what, mama?" I said. "Don't act dumb, you what I'm talking about" mom said, "you really approved?" I asked. "Yes, of course" dad said.

I text Layla.

I put my phone on the nightstand to charge, I slowly drifted off.
