"oh dear, you were a worthy entertainment," said the devil satisfied with his little sparrow.
It was unreal to her as his body fell limp banging some parts of his body against the desk roughly in the process before he lay in an awkward position on the floor. She watched him for another forty-five seconds while gently picking up the ink pen he gave her to sign the divorce papers. She ran the nib of the pen over the bruised neck, she had a sudden urge to push it further into his neck. It was what she did. She pushed the whole length of the pen into the small opening causing blood to pour out. She had completely given in to that specific urge and began stabbing his neck mindlessly, mercilessly. She did not realize she had killed him in the process. She could not grasp onto the now seemingly forced reality as she had thought this was a figment created by her mind.
She had murdered him.
she....
had...
murdered...
this man!
Astonished, she scrambled back into a corner in the study and stared at the dead body laying before her whimpering body. Her mind was still in a dull haze and that was when it hit her, he was to be married in two hours. She began to panic. 'You have no one to care for anyway. You are a nobody after everything you tolerated. He deserved this end. He deserves much more. So does that backstabbing bitch he loved so dearly.' whispered the voice just as she began to sob loudly. She never meant it to end this way. 'Do you really care what the outside world thinks of you? You are very disappointing now, Freyja. I thought you were a woman who wanted to be his destruction, this is his destruction. Are you feeling guilty..... why? Is it because the society will deem your actions immoral? or is it because you still loved him and wanted to watch him seek his happiness whilst you rotted?' The words whispered were the truth. She did not want to take responsibility for her own thoughts and fell into a fit of rage. She yelled as she ran across the room to the dead being, she brutalized it's body. Blood adorned like ruby all over the desk and drenching her dress.
The body was unrecognizable. She felt satisfied at the sight. She could not care less for his happiness. Right? She convinced herself that she was right. That she never loved him and was only 'occupied', she told herself. But it made no sense. He was dead. That whore's life destroyed, that is, if she truly did love her 'now dead ' husband. What next? It was not like she actually had a life to live. She looked up to the clock and realized that it was forty-three minutes to his wedding. This wedding will not be held if the groom is dead. She was too casual about this. It was a foreign environment for her and she felt oddly comfortable in it. Nonchalant even! She took in the bloody sight one last time before she decided to harm herself. She had to look her part after all.
She ripped the bloody dress, stabbing the ink pen into her thigh and through gritted teeth she dragged it across her thigh. Her cheeks were already tear stained. she was fatigued terribly which she decided to use to her advantage. She weaved a web of lies to fit the current situation. She grew up with such disgusting people all her life, she definitely can manipulate. She decided that if she had nothing then she would take back what was rightfully hers. With that thought she rang up the police,
"P-ple-ase help!" She sobbed out through the phone of her late husband, her voice broke in the process. She did not have to fake the hurt, sadness and agony in her voice because she had watched and mourned at the sight of her past self dying. She was helpless at that time but not anymore. She was educated only for basic purposes but knew her way with things. She had all the resources she wanted with sufficient time now.
"Miss! Miss?!" called out the voice from the other side right before she passed out on the bloody floor.
She was filled with the urge to live her life just as it was meant to be. Right?
