CHAPTER 5
VIOLET P.O.V
As I got closer to the time that we would be leaving for our date, I started to panic. I knew that Beau knew what he was doing. He had his own kids but this was going to be longest I have ever been away from her. Beau offered to take her for the night so that we could have the whole night to ourselves.
"What are you thinking about?" Daniel asked as he tied his tie.
"I'm just worried." Ryder was a very easy going baby but that didn't mean that she wasn't going to give Beau a hard time throughout the night. Since she was born 6 weeks away, she hasn't been away from me or Daniel for more than a few hours.
"We will pick her up first thing tomorrow morning." Daniel assured me. "Everything is going to be fine. Don't ruin tonight with your worrying." I sighed nodded. I wanted this date night as much as he did. Towards the end of my pregnancy it had become a lot more difficult to make outings together. It was hard for me to even go to the food store. We were lucky if we could even sneak in sex for a few minutes.
"I just-"
"Well don't just." He said making me laugh. "Beau knows what he's doing." I nodded. I was putting my entire life in Beau's hands hoping that he would be able to handle her.
Beau came a few minutes later. I helped him get her bag and her into his car.
"Please call or text with updates. Everything she could possibly need is in her bag. Once had close and the other is just her diaper bag. It's totally fine to give her a pacifier if she won't settle. Should I get the cot?"
"No. We have one. Don't worry about it." I nodded. "She'll be fine, Violet."
"Oh! I wanted to talk to you about something. We're planning a trip to Australia. Wanted to see if we should make it a whole family thing."
"I would have to ask. But please don't feel like you need to wait for us. You can go at any point." He answered. We hadn't made any real plans yet but it was nice to dream about it. I wanted to wait until Ryder was a little older but I also knew that my grandparents weren't in the best of health and that we should probably go visit soon.
"Awesome." I smiled. "Now, take care of my daughter." I commented leaning into the car to kiss her innocent face. "You call mommy if Uncle Beau gives you a hard time." I said rubbing my finger down her nose. "I love you." I kissed her one last time before closing the door. I watched them pull out of the driveway before heading back inside to finish getting ready.
"Are you almost ready to go?" Daniel asked.
"I just need to get dressed." I answered taking the black dress off the hanger and stepping into it. I wore a matching pantie and bra set that I knew would drive him crazy. As much as I didn't want to leave Ryder, I was looking forward to tonight. God knew we both needed it. "I'm ready." I commented smiling at him as I grabbed my purse.
"Let's kick it, Baby." He smiled leading me out to the car.
"Thank you for taking me out."
"You don't have to thank me." He commented. "That's what husbands are for." He smiled making me smile.
"I know but the last few months haven't been easy and I feel like I've been abandoning you and I didn't mean to."
"Hey. Don't think like that. I do not feel like you've been abandoning me. I know that life recently hasn't been easy. But it does not mean that I love you any less. I am so happy with the life we have right now." I smiled at his words. Life had been difficult and it felt nice to know that he was going to stick around to help me out when I needed it.
