CHAPTER 4

VIOLET P.O.V

Ryder is a month old

"She's a very healthy baby. Growing perfectly. Seems to be right on track with development." We were at the doctors for Ryder's one month check up. I knew that she had been striving so I didn't need to hear it from the doctors mouth.

"Thank you." I smiled. "We had a quick question. We're thinking of getting a dog. How would we be able to tell if she was allergic to cat or dog hair? Is it noticeable at her age?" I felt so stupid for asking this question but I was new to this mom thing and I had no idea.

"It can always cause a reaction yes. There is no way to tell unless she's been around dogs before." She confirmed. "Obviously if you get a dog and she's allergic, the best solution would be to either find a new home for the dog or make sure that the dog hair is always cleaned up."

"Alright. Thank you so much."

"You have your appointment set to see your OB within the next two or three weeks right?" She questioned.

"Yes." I smiled as Daniel got Ryder dressed and into her seat. The doctor left shortly after and we left the room to pay the co-pay and headed out to lunch.

I was finally feeling fully like myself. I was able to walk normal. My stomach didn't hurt anymore. I was able to get up during the night and rush to get Violet. I was feeling great. My body was feeling great.

"I want to take you on a date." Daniel blurted at lunch. "Without Ryder."

"Okay..." I was a little hesitant. I knew that he meant that he wanted me to find someone to watch her so we could spend a night alone and as much as I wanted that, I wasn't sure if I would be able to leave her with someone.

"I know that it'll be difficult to leave her but I think we both need this." He nearly whined. For the last month our lives we had only been with the baby. We had never been alone.

"Okay. I can ask Hayden if she'll watch her."

"Thank you." He smiled.

*TWO WEEKS LATER*

I drove myself to the OB while Daniel stayed home with Ryder. It was my first time leaving the house without them and the first time that I was leaving Daniel home alone with her. I had faith in him that he would be able to do it alone but it didn't mean that I wasn't going to be scared about it.

"Your scar looks great. Healed perfectly. How's the bleeding?"

"I stopped bleeding fully about two weeks ago." I commented.

"That's good. So I'm going to clear you to start physical activity. You can work out. You can lift things. Obviously take it easy. Don't go right back into a two hour work out. Listen to your body. If something hurts, stop doing it. You can have sex again. It will be painful. Take things slow and at a pace that doesn't hurt." She commented. I took mental note of everything she was saying.

Daniel had wanted to hold off on our date night until he knew that I was cleared to have sex so that we could go on a date and spend a romantic night together. I didn't blame him. I knew that he was dying to have sex. There was only so much a handjob or blowjob could do for the poor guy.

"Would you like to talk about birth control?"

"I have always liked taking the pills." I was always good about taking the pill. Ryder was planned so I must have been doing something right since the first time I had sex with Daniel. Since being married we haven't used condoms. A month before our wedding I stopped taking my birth control in hopes of regulating my period. 4 months into our married I got pregnant. We weren't exactly planning but we weren't preventing either. We were just kinda hoping it would happen.
